Winter is here which means colder temps in the garage gym and advisability of a little bit more warming up these aging joints. So for the next few months I’ll double up each of the warmup sets on the way up and merely so 8 doubles at the top weight rather than 12.

Woke up today with a very stiff and sensitive lower back muscle. Not really sure where this came from as Monday’s squat workout felt fine and yesterday I didn’t feel anything unusual. So I took it very easy this afternoon. Things started to feel better as I went but I didn’t want to push past 225 today. Hoping this was just a weird fluke, I feel normal by Friday and maybe I’ll try a heavier workout with chains that day.

@alex_uk : thanks for asking! Been a little better each day. The light squats seem to help it loosen up (which is why I’m breaking my last-week vow to stop doing shit like squatting 3 days in a row…) and I think by tomorrow it might feel all-clear or at least “back to normal”
