How do you like the sumos over conventional
I loved pulling conventional and was kind of resistant to ever trying sumo at first. But I have some kind of issue in my lower back (pretty sure it’s a big muscle on the left side, not a disc issue or anything) that was cranky & getting worse over time…made the switch to sumo and have had basically no back issues from deadlifting for 3+ years of regular sumo pulling. Lately I’ve been doing 3 or even 4 deadlifts workouts per week and feeling fine. It takes some getting used to and is a different lift than a conventional deadlift but I still get the satisfaction of taking a heavy weight off the floor and locking it out. So overall…I kinda still wish I could pull conventional and haul up a big weight, but if it’s between sumo deadlifting and no deadlifting, I’m very happy to stick with sumo. The first few months of this year have gone pretty well and I’m kind of inclined to make a push this year and see if I can get back up into the mid-500’s or maybe even up to 585.
