Kettlebell & Dumbbell Circuit (20 Minutes)
Had to be in very early for work today, so instead of going to the gym at 5 AM, I just used my apartment building workout room, alternated sets of 10 swings with my 88 pound kettlebell vs. random sets of dumbbell bro-muscle work for awhile. My fiancee did the same workout with a 62-pound bell and slightly lighter dumbbells.

I think you’re good for five plates with a few days of rest from pulling. Its going down soon.
Noticing any physique changes?
I think so too, just being patient and letting the gains accumulate as they will. I’m going to take a few more weeks of solid progress (more rep PR’s in the 405-455 range) and then take my crack at it.
I have gained a few pounds (weighed in around 217 last week) and have a general increase in “thickness” all around (arms, shoulders, back, legs) in recent months. On the downside, I don’t have visible abs, which is a little disappointing, but I don’t feel like I’ve really gained any fat. I’m kind of burbling on the edge of being “as heavy as I want to be without going further” - so once I hit 500, I might try to really clean up the diet (not that it’s been that dirty anyway) and see if I can keep my strength gains while skimming some fat off the outer layer.

My set with 435 was pretty ugly, so I did a high rep set with 225 afterwards to finish on bit of a cleaner note.
That must have been brutal!
Actually it really wasn’t too bad. I have been occasionally getting some higher reps in (and really liking it) as a finishing set…this would have been a lot harder six months ago when my deadlift was still in the mid-300’s but now 225 is less than 50% of my max, so I ought to be able to crank out 15-plus reps with it any time.
My back is a little tender right now, think I strained it a little bit on that 3x435 (not that I can’t handle 435 for a couple reps overall, but I got a little sloppy and out of position on the last rep and I’m paying for it just a little bit now). Tomorrow I’ll be at yoga with my fiancee and then Sunday I’ll probably just do some box squats.
Still thinking about a 500 pull before my wedding (August 10) / 30th birthday (August 14). Ideally sometime in mid-July I’ll cross that one off.
Sure, but high rep deadlifts are always nasty lol, regardless of top end strength.
EDIT: And I’m sure you’ll smoke 500lbs any day now
