In Europe for a few days, so all weights are converted from KG, hence the odd increments!

Holiday or a quick business trip. What countries are you visiting ?

Fixed it for you.

Seriously though, who would set the weight of plates to 25lbs, 35lbs and 45lbs?

Work trip that I’m using as an excuse to tack on a brief holiday. We’re in Dublin for 2 days, then Belfast for 4 days. Pretty busy schedule during the latter portion but still should be fun. We had a great day in Dublin just now.

Most of the bars in this gym were bent pretty noticeably so I didn’t really push for anything heavy the last few days. I was content just to get three “barbell” workouts in while traveling.

A physique photo of @isdatnutty seems to be the wet dream of several frequent posters.

That feels like a far less likely event than @ActivitiesGuy pulling 700.

Relocated to a different hotel for the rest of my travels. This one has a much nicer setup, truth be told - higher quality bar & nicer plates - so I’m glad to have this for the rest of our trip.

Question for @T3hPwnisher (anyone else can answer too, just didn’t want to clutter his log with my question): for a non-competitor that loves deadlifting & has a little spare cash (enough to afford it if I want to…) is a deadlift bar worth having?

I like pulling with an axle and of course I have a regular training bar, but lately it’s been bouncing about in my mind that it would be really fun to have a deadlift bar (this would also allow me to leave that bar loaded with 100’s on the floor while keeping the regular training bar in the rack so my wife can squat whenever she feels like it). Most of what I read about the high-quality deadlift bars is pretty positive, but I’m just pondering if it’s a $300 vanity purchase (again, for a non-competitor that does this purely for fun) or if I’m really missing out on something that would enhance my deadlift experience.

I like a deadlift bar for training because I find the flex in the bar tends to spare the lower back during periods of heavy/intense training. Especially beneficial if you are hitting the sandbag hard.

I think if I was a deadlift specialist such as yourself, I would purchase a deadlift bar. I think you would hit that 700lb deadlift quicker with it in your hands. I’ve only used a deadlift bar twice (at my two PL competitions) and I find the DL bar much easier to pull on than a stiff bar. Massive (somewhat unexpected) deadlift PRs at both of my meets.
