Finished with a real nice crisp single at 405. I think in my “daily squatting” routine, the best loads for my current strength are finishing with 2x360 on most days and going up to 405-plus once a week, trying to nudge that PR up towards 500. My deadlift got there over time when I set my mind to it, no reason the squat can’t do the same.

It’s been pretty cool to see her get into lifting and genuinely enjoy it, watching her numbers go up. She squatted all through pregnancy last year, really only stopping in the last month or so before delivering our son, and started lifting again about 8 weeks post partum. In the last few weeks she’s been really excited to surpass her pre-pregnancy PR’s in both squat and deadlift. I think she really wants to squat 200 before we get pregnant with our second…

Long term I think 200 squat / 250 deadlift would be pretty awesome numbers for her to hit and maintain.

Happy with this, but really want to push this up to 405 over the next year. The trio of 405 front squat, 500 back squat and 700 deadlift. Repeat until strong.

Link to vid of 340 front squat. I know, I know - I lose my bracing a bit & end up folding over more than I’d like. I still squat like a deadlifter. Working on it.

Playing around with different weight choices in the ramp-up. I try to fit my workouts into 15-20 minutes for family reasons, which usually allows seven or eight sets. I kind of like taking small jumps early in the warmup and then one bigger jump to finish with one or two real working sets; that probably seems weird to most people, but I love it. Just trying to figure out where I think is most efficient to take the big jump. At my current level of strength, I kind of like working up to 255 with small jumps and then making a big jump from there to 325 or 345.

Nice little tidbit of foreshadowing here. :+1:

I’m pretty sure if you achieve these numbers you will already be outlandishly strong!

Congrats on the FS PR.

@ActivitiesGuy

If your glutes get too strong you might have to dial back your “effort” in that arena lest you injure someone.
