Congratulations on the recent engagement!! Might as well go ahead and stock up on some baby kettlebells for little ActivitiesGuy Jr. or Baby ActivitiesGal!!
Many thanks, folks. It is indeed an exciting time. And yes, I am keeping our 20 and 26-pound kettlebells around so the kid (who won’t be arriving for a while, haha) will have something to play with…incidentally, how I got into lifting weights was through my dad’s interest in PL (we started lifting together when I was 9, starting with an empty bar for me, learning the basics - squat, deadlift, bench).

Dude, congratulations.

Hey man, big congrats to you and ActivitiesGal.
FWIW, technical fun fact: The ‘fiance’ is the guy, the ‘fiancee’ is the lady. I kept mixing those up until I realized that fiancee has two e’s and girls have two boobs. Logic.
Anyhow, congrats again.

Humorously, I did not even know the fiance/fiancee distinction until the day after we got engaged. I commented that there really should be a different word (I mean, you’re boyfriend-and-girlfriend, then husband-and-wife…shouldn’t we have two different words for an engaged couple? Like “fiancer” for the male and fiancee" for the lady?)
Thanks fellas. Much obliged. CC, didn’t you get engaged yourself in the last year or so? Have you finished the job yet?

I did something that I normally think is dorky - loaded the bar with a bunch of 10’s and 5’s so I could easily strip small chunks of weight for each successive round. This was quite a challenge overall, and probably is a good idea to include for some MetCon moving forward as I keep up my not-quite-CrossFit-but-sorta-like-it training. I think next time I’ll just load a weight like 155/165 and stick with it for the full WOD-like-thing.

This is the perfect early-morning, get-some-work-in workout. And it should be good for deadlift assistance. Will definitely keep this up at least once a week (basically, any time I have an early-morning meeting that precludes a trip to the gym, this is the meal ticket).
