Acid Reflux Issues

I see a ton of threads on here from early 2000’s regarding acid reflux but I’m hoping there has been some advancements since then. I have had bouts of gastritis and pretty bad acid relfux. I did see amazing improvements when I began taking Zinc L-Carnotine however, I inadvertently took too much and that came with a whole host of side effects. Has anyone had any success in using other supplements? I’ve been using Glutamine for years- I do not see a noticeable difference when I am taking it. It is also much improved when I drink Bio-k+ probiotics- very pricey but worth it. Your feedback is appriciated.

You need to get to the bottom of what is causing it.
My wife had gastritis for years and has recently taken a wheat zoomer test that showed a pretty high gluten sensitivity causing inflammation. She has been gluten free for a few months now with 0 flare ups.

In my case sugar, in all of its tasty forms, causes my acid reflux. Fatty foods, such as bacon do as well. Also, eating to close to bed time. I did have a horrible case last week however.

I do not want to scare you, but if you have chronic gastritis/acid reflux, you need to know that can lead to a condition called Barrett’s esophagus, which in turn can lead to esophageal cancer, which is a horrible way to die. I know these things because (a) I let my chronic heartburn go untreated for years until an endoscopy showed that I now have an uncurable form of Barrett’s esophagus, and (b) I watched helplessly 10 years ago as a loved one died a slow, agonizing death from esophageal cancer. I suggest you consult your doctor or gastroenterologist.
