I stopped in here because the volume was pretty high.
I enjoy dancing.

Enjoyed the video, lol’d at the text. Solid squatting/nice PRs. I would count your 125kg as paused personally, from watching a few vids of BDFPA meets a ton of the press commands are given after a pause about that long. Either way, it didn’t even look like it was your limit. I’ll be entering beastmode to attempt to compete with some of these gains.
woooooooooooooot
Training looking really solid at the moment, you’re killing it mayne!
Nice dude, that pause on the 120kg bench was long as hell, awesome. Last squat rep of 160 I didn’t know how you got it but you did. haha

^THIS
It looked like you started to descend mid-rep, and STILL pushed through. Really impressive.
Good squatting man, fighting through those last reps prove if you really have the determination to reach your goals.
just a sickening squat. BUT
Where was the Viking scream?
@Ct. Rock - welcome, glad to see you! <3 volume. Also <3 dancing, I spent a lot of Saturday night throwing shapes.
@Jake, thanks man and that’s good to hear! I think a good day I’ve got 140 right now, but I still want to “build” rather than “demonstrate” strength lol. Looking forward to your beastmode competition gainz!
@Jacob, lol that’s a good point - I have no idea? I think I was trying desperately to hold my breath to maintain some semblence of internal pressure.
@Everyone else, thanks so much guys. I know you can appreciate nearly failing a squat like that better than anyone who doesn’t lift so your comments mean a lot.
Lifting wasn’t exciting today, just getting some work done.

PM
Squats:
20kg x 8
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 1 x 10s pause
It’s amazing how much pressure builds up in those 10 seconds in the hole.
Strict Press:
20kg x 10
60kg x 5
Klokov Press:
40kg x 3
40kg x 5
50kg x 1
Still feeling the groove on these. They are hard.
Incline Crunches:
some
Notes:
Had pretty much no sleep and too much vodka this weekend. I’m not recovered in the least bit so just went light/low volume again today. Will be back killing it tomorrow after an early night.
What’s the back lever status brah?
Not sure, I’ve taken a couple weeks break from it. Will re-test soon enough then start up another cycle of lever progressions.
So what makes you do high volume when you do, and what makes you do low volume when you do?

Mirin’ pause squats, I think they are a helluva exercise.

@TheBird, it depends in the main on how I feel. If I am feeling particularly beaten up I take it lighter or less volume (or sometimes both). If I am feeling great I keep going till I “know” it’s time to stop. I’m pretty good at intuitively knowing when I’m done on good days without going to failure.
Whenever I go low volume because I am “supposed to” it doesn’t work for me.
@Samoth, they truly are. I’m loving paused everything right now.
============================
AM
Warmups: 10 bodyweight squats, a whole bunch of shoulder mobilisation
Overhead Squats:
20kg x 10 - felt superb
30kg x 8
40kg x 5
60kg x 1 - felt very tough =/
65kg x 1 - 5kg PR but slightly above parallel
40kg x 1 x 5s pause. Held it rock bottom position.
Notes:
Shoulder mobility is suddenly in the last week or so greatly improved - for the first time in the OHS I felt as though I could lose the bar backwards. Had difficulty maintaining my groove on the “heavier” weights, but the lighter weights felt solid and all went rock bottom with no difficulty. Wrists hurt.
PM
Warmups: various shoulder mobility
Paused Bench:
60kg x 5
80kg x 3
100kg x 1
110kg x 1
120kg x 1 x 2
122.5kg x 2 - 2.5kg PR might have had a third going all out…
122.5kg x 1 x 3 - all kaindsa gaynz
110kg x 3 - felt easy
110kg x 5 - Sequencing PR (thanks Jake for the inspiration here, lol)
Smashed this up. Form is feeling a little better. Elbow hurt a little but not too bad.
Close Grip Bench:
100kg x 8 - PR not sure how much, I just know I’ve never done this much with CG before
Felt awesome, actually. Felt incredibly light in my hands on unracking.
Ring Dips:
5
Trashed my elbow, had to call it a day here. ![]()
Notes:
So this session was pretty sick. My joints and wrists were aching but my muscles had energy to spare and I hit some nice PRs. Had my elbow not crapped out I would have had a fair amount more work in me. Ah well, time to rest and eat.
Time to rest and eat is epic. As is your progress young padawan.

You are sexy enough tho <3
What’s a sequencing PR?
i liek u
I’m liking all the Paused stuff. I just started incorporating into my training, and it really makes a difference.
I was wondering, why do you Back Squat barefoot, but Front Squat in Oly Shoes?
