Accutane

I have had acne my whole life since adolescence, and on cycle it seems to become more severe. I have seen a doctor about getting accutane, after dioxycline and other stuff hasnt solved the problem, but apparently because my acne is not totally severe they will not prescribe me it due to the liver problems associated with it etc.

My question is this - are there internet sources out there that I can buy accutane from? I live an hour from Mexico…do you know if I can buy it there? I remember going to TJ with my folks many years ago, and we got amoxyciline and pennecilan and other medicine with no trouble. Would I be able to find accutane as well?

Thanks.

Probably. But it was my understanding you could only bring prescription drugs back you have prescriptions for. I forget the law here. Of course you could just not disclose them at the border…

Why not try another doctor?

Yeah most doctors I’ve seen are ready to hand that shit out like halloween candy.

000 - is that you in your avatar? you’re ripped.

dude I would be really careful with that stuff. It has way to many potential side effects such as;

mental disorders such as depression and suicide, hearing, vision problems you cannot take any herbal or supplement type products. It also can cause serious brain problems such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting

Also abdomen(stomach area) problems like permanent organ damage, bowel pain, trouble or painful swallowing, rectal bleeding to name a few, Bone and muscle weakness AND LOTS OF OTHER FUCK UP SHIT…My doctor suggested I take it for my Hydradenitis Suprativa (infections of sweat glands basically)

Oh yeah and it only has about a 50-50 chance of working. So you might want to put some serious thought into it.

Dude, have you tryed Proactive Solution?
I don’t have acne bad at all, but my little brother does, well, did. Seriously that stuff is complicated as crap, he gets like 6 diff bottles of crap in a box with all these instructions and what not, and while it’s time consuming and a pain it’s incredible how well it works. He can go from totally messed up to completely clear in a week. I dont know much bout the prescription stuff but if you haven’t given this a shot it’s roughly 30 dollars for a month worth.

I agree 100% with what DDCH97. There are too many side effects to list. My best friend took Accutane last year for about 6 months and committed suicide in September. His family is involved in a class action lawsuit against the manufacture.

Check it out at : www.jeffreyslaw.com- one of the attorney?s involved.

I used Acutane…It worked miracles for me. I went from having severe acne on my forehead and moderate acne on my back 4 years ago to not having had a single pimple since I took it. I’d post a before pic but it would scare you all to death.

I went to a dermatologist to get accutance because my acne has been gettin kinda bad latly. n she was willing to presecribe it for me, but wanted me to try some other stuff first. so im on minocycline (some antibiotic that supposedly kills the bacteria that casues it) and some creams. just started takin it so no significant changes yet but ill keep u updated. my best friend took accutance n it worked miracles for him. the only side effects he has were very dry lips and sensitive to sunlgiht (gets burned easily) but there still is a lot of risk with accutane. If the stuff im on doesnt work im gona probly go on it so i can get rid of my problem by the time im in college

IMO, accutane should be reserved for very severe cases of acne, such as the one I had 4 yrs ago…I did a 6mo. treatment at ~70mg/d and haven’t had a breakout since…Quite incredible!
Sure it has some sides that may/may not affect you, but you have to be the one to decide whether or not the tradeoff of having clear skin 4 the rest of your life is worth some temporary dry skin, chapped lips, sensitivity to sunlight.
As for the depression issue, the only time I felt depressed was the initial 2-4 weeks when your symptoms worsen, but after that my skin started to clear up dramtically and I was ecstatic for the remainder of the treatment.

since when has that EVER stopped you?

I have had acne since start of puberty. Lately, it’s began to get severe all on my face and back, a few pimples on my chest. I’ve tried other forms of treatment (just about anything you can think of from proactive solution to minocycline and retin a) I’m currently on day 13 of 40 mg/ED of accutane. Dermatologist gave me minimal dosage the first time I saw him and took blood that day. He is gonna up the dosage when i go back (which will be a month from first visit). He didn’t wanna give me full dose before my blood test results were back.

Only sides are dry lips, somewhat dry facial skin, and joints are a little sorer than normal. No depression or anything and my acne has basically stayed the same as before I started (no worsening). PM me if you wanna find out how it’s going later on.

Someone mentioned that supplements are out of the question while taking accutane. How true is this and if it is true, what supps. in particular?

Bro, supps are fine, in fact I recommend that you get some milk thistle and run that at 1g/d to offset accutanes hepatoxicity…The only thing you want to avoid is vitA as accutane is basically an astronomical dose of it. Since most multi-vit contain a decent amt. of it, you may have to opt for a multi-mineral supp.

Thanks MK

The last place you want to buy meds is in mexico there was a special on dateline a few weeks ago which uncovered pharmacies in mexico selling expired meds, relabeling bottles, it even showed some college kids buying what they thought were steroids and they were really hormones given to dogs and cows. The bottles were even labeled “for vet use only” i think you are better off talking to your doctor so at least he can monitor your progress. Or even talk to a nutritionist who might even be able to tell you some herbal supplements ie euchanecia or olive leaf

I have had bad acne for a long time and this might sound weird but when i took HOT-ROX for 8 weeks, my acne really cleared up a lot, i dont know if it was the HOT-ROX or not but, Just a thought.

Have you ever tried Retin-A? I’ve never looked for Accutane when I’ve been in Mexico but I know I’ve seen Retin-A there. Pretty good stuff and far less side effects then Accutane, I want to say $10 a tube or so, but its been a while.

I was in South Africa at the time I had pretty nasty acne for almost a year. I heard accutane cleared up someone with bad acne immaculately so I went to the dr out there. After a $10 visit, he gave me a prescription for it. You are supposed to get blood tests once a month to check your Lipids in your liver among a few other things. People told me all this crazy crap about how it makes you sterile. I had no side effects at all. I never got any tests, probably not a good idea. I had really dry skin though until I stopped taking it which is normal. It cleared me up like charm. Now I get an occasional zit, but it is never as severe as it was. Oh also, I got my entire 6 month prescription for about $750 USD out there. Since I was only in SA for a couple months, I had the Dr. write me a prescription for the rest of the time, so I got like $600 worth of this stuff and brought it back to the US with me on the plane.
