what would you know about the “American way”? your not a part of the club, chap.so piss off and all that pish posh, you bloody wanker. is that the English way?

Ah, am I wrong? Don’t half the people (not to be taken literally) run around with lawsuits and complaints about the dumbest shit you’ve ever heard? “Hey, I’m fat - lets sue Mcdonalds.”

And btw, the US controls ALL of my viewing, from movies to tv and internet - so ya - I think I have a pretty good idea.

And lastly I’m from South Africa and I’m not english.

Yeah, I guess you do know, because everything you see in the movies and on tv is 100% really the way it is in America. At least our lawyers don’t have to wear ill-fitting powdered wigs.

And how does the U.S. control what you see on the internet?

DB

Umm, compared to other countries the US is ridiculously lawsuit happy. People over here sue for stuff that got shrugged off back in South Africa.
You mean like apartheid?

No idea, I thought we were talking about litigation and sexual harassment. Let’s not go bringing racism and uber morality into this. Cos you won’t win, everything we did, you guys pretty much did too at 1 point…
gojira wrote:
The previous poster who stated that they had no case because you are not her superior, is wrong.
Sorry, but I’m still correct. You advised your supervisor. Later on down the line you could file an EEO complaint on that supervisor for not taking action on your incident. Your supervisor was covering his/her own ass by reporting it to EEO. Your incident would have been classified as sexual harassment from an equal. If management didn’t do anything that one “complaint” would then become two.

Equal Employment Opportunity reps can investigate Sexual Harassment charges from employee to employee but it’s for management’s benefit. Bottom line, it is not possible for a complainant to win an EEO award from an equal, only a superior.

Your incident could have led to an EEO award but it would have been against your management for inaction to your incident. Like if they didn’t punish or admonish your co-worker for grabbing your ass. Boom, EEO.

RACIST!!!
Why a racist? Dickhead maybe, but racist? Are you assuming he thinks he’s black? So if I tell you to go back to Australia I must think you are Aborigine?

Right in line with most of your posts, you are a flaming dumbass.

I heard a news report about a person who was teaching racial diversity and used M&M’s as an example, showing that while they are all different colors on the outside, they are all the same on the inside.

Well somebody got upset at being referred to as an “M&M”, complained, and the racial sensitivity trainer lost his job because of lack of racial sensitivity.
I actually LOL’d at this. But now I want to cry cos it’s fucking SAD. I hate PC bullshit.

I’ll go to the restroom so nobody sees me.

I’m sure he was kidding like I was. I was assuming he’s a white S. African btw

Update

Yesterday, equal opportunity people interviewed my other co-workers. It seems the consensus is I’m a decent guy who, up to this point, got along with everyone and never had any behavior problems before.

I talked with eo this morning and they agree with me that it wasn’t the friendliest thing to say but it does not “constitute harassment”.

Case closed with no reprimand.

Cheers AllNatural. Right on the money.

Malo: In a thread talking about stereotype, political correctness, and jumping to conclusions, it is possible, remote as it is, that somebody may make a joke post that was pc.

I’m sorry you feel that way about me, I do tend to make facetious posts. Most people understand them and thei intention. I won’t offer a retaliatory comment as I have absolutely no recollection of ever seeing you before.

I teach at a University, and my personal rule is to never address anything about a female student’s personal life: appearance, behavior, background, nothing. I’m constantly told how I look like a tough, mean, etc. guy (I lift, have a shaved head and goatee, don’t talk much), and for guys like that especially, who a lot of women expect to be the most sexist, it’s just absolutely not worth the risk.

Unfortunately it is part of the American Way. We have far too many lawyers.
Not really. We have far too many idiotic citizens filing retarded lawsuits. Except for a few ambulance chasers, lawyers and judges work hard to toss frivolous lawsuits. And to encourage settlement.

Judges, especially, put a lot of pressure on both parties to settle even if the lawsuit is not groundless unless they are convinced the only possibility of resolution is through courtroom litigation.

Basically, my original point is that it’s turned into a joke as to what some people will do to get some money/attention/revenge in the US - from what I’ve seen.

Because the media makes it international knowledge IMO it gives the “real” public a bad rep when you keep hearing such bullshit going on. Chances are it’s a small percentage of the public that actually does it - but it’s not made out that way. Things like banning “dangerous” games at schools, which real aren’t dangerous, is just ridiculous.

The world is turning soft, people can’t fight their own battles anymore, in 100 years time we’ll all be metro’s and you guys have to accept it :).

Chicken or egg? There are also plenty of lawyers willing to take the “retarded lawsuits.” I know plenty of good attorneys that will pass on such cases, but there are always the bottom feeders. ; and these are the guys that dominate the airwaves.

How about the asine class action suits being filed “on behalf” of victims and the only people that see real returns are the lawyers?
I belive the US has the highest lawyers per capita of any country.

Lots of bottom feeders and lots of bad lawsuits.

on the joking side, leave some tampons and some midol in her work area with a better luck next time note.
Serious side, I wouldn’t ever reference it again in any way, public or private. Any like action can and will be looked at as retaliatory (sp?).

Let it go with class and a short memory

The best thing to do, is buy a sniper rifle and stalk her in the dead of night, when all is quiet and no one is around. From a tall building, through a window give her 8 grams of pure lead. After that run for the mexican border. Once on the other side, take a lot of recreational drugs and forget about it.
