at the 10 minute mark and baffled…
oh! i was flipping my channels and saw some of this. i think i’m going to get some good laughs from this one. ok to be fat? wtf.
They found the most extreme people from both sides to fight it out, in the end ABC accomplished nothing.
So far I’m only 47 seconds in and I feel like I’ve wasted brain power that could be spent watching Dexter or reading…
okay, now i’m 1.30 in. she’s right, thin does not equal healthy, but obese does equal fucking fat and unhealthy. i shall continue…
2.56 in, and i’m wondering why ABC news is guaging its ideal of Fat based on runway models. no one dresses like they do, no one gets paid like they do, why the fuck should they be judged alongside us normal people?
4.11. Fat bitch says “fat is okay!” now, i’ll be the first to say that I’ve been attracted to, and accept, that there are larger people out there and that not everyone will eat as healthy as me or will work out as much as me (hell, I don’t work out as much as many of you, so I think I’m in the same boat as most normal people), but this Fat chick is NOT healthy fat, or kinda fat, or even “just-a-little-chunky,” but rather, VERY FUCKING HUGE AND UNHEALTHY.
4.32. This skinny blone bitch, “Roth” i belive her name is, can’t even do a fucking pushup off of a park bench, and her pasty, skinny ass is gonna judge anyone on merits of health? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say she’s a Vegan or Vegetarian. I maybe wrong, we’ll see…
5.20. yeah, Renn, you’re the hottest of them all, and you don’t look to be a size 12. but comparing Anoroexia to a health-experience is just stupid. you are larger, and attractive, and you may very well be “healthy”, but that’s like a heroin-junkie not taking Advil because they’ve lived through addiction. sometimes, being Healthy doens’t mean puking up your shitty food because you’re insecure, just like getting rid of a headache with a couple of pills isn’t the same as shooting up…
God…its only been six minutes. we’ll see what happnes from here.
^^ I’m not very far into it but it’s never a good sign when the “pro-fat” arguments are stemming on nothing but runway models and hollywood(in fact, hollywood is a terrible example because some of the most accomplished actresses/actors are a very healthy looking weight, some exceptions definitely not the rule).
Edit: The smaller of the fat chicks isn’t exactly what I would go around calling “fat” either… but who knows they’re not exactly in bikinis.
Marq, please tell us more. I cant get through the introdcution. That Roth chick seemed to be even more annoying than the fat girl and thats saying alot.
Is there any way to watch this outside the US?
Seriously, they don’t have a single balance-minded person in the entire panel. Maybe the bitching back and forth is what they’re going for. You’ve got the fat chick who didn’t lose weight on her 300 calorie a day diets, the model who seems to think you’re either overweight or anorexic, the former fat chick who didn’t seem to make any thought out arguments, and the militant anti-fat chick who seems like one of those people who can claim they haven’t had a carb in 4 years.
Though the study that proved obese people’s brain’s are 4% smaller was still pretty funny…

uggggh , i would hope at least half of this forum contains people who are “obese”.
15 minutes in, yo! Anyone else want Ronnie Coleman to burst through the floor and tell 'em all how it is?
I actually got through the entire thing, though it may have helped that I had a buddy with whom I made snarky remarks about these people. Due to the fact that bodybuilding colors my perception of fitness and whatnot, I found this quite funny actually.

I’ll make a deal with you … I’ll actually read one of your posts if you change your goddamn avatar … I scroll past every one of your posts because of that fucking thing … I have no idea if I like you or not, if you’re funny, if you’re a smartass, if you’re smart, if you’re dumb … I just know I hate your avatar
that was boring. no one listened outside of their own point of view. and they were all wrong. the cake example i agree with though.
