A Stye in My Eye

A stye formed in my eye the last couple of days and i was wondering if i had to go see a doctor to get some medicine to orally take or put in my eye.

My dad thinks i should but i dont want to go to the doctor right now. thanks for any help

It’s simpler and more reliable to search on Google than it is to weed through the responses of strangers who may, or may not, be messing with you.

Anyways,

Hot wash cloth over eye a few times of day. Didn’t your mom teach you anything?

By the way, did you know that you probably have microscopic mites living in the follicles of your eyelashes.

Or didn’t your grandmother teach your Dad anything.

I don’t wanna scare you, but I had what I thought was a stye for about three days before it just kept getting bigger and bigger. On the fourth day - i went into the emergency room and it turned out to be preseptal cellulitis which is a localized swelling of the eyelid.

I was put on IV antibiotics for like five days (I carried around a pump IV at home for four of those days) and a few days more of medication to clear the infection. It did clear and thank god it didn’t turn into a worse infection.

Again this isn’t to scare you, but get a qualified opinion on these matters. I will never make the mistake again of taking these things lightly.

And watch out for these beasts. They live in everyones home!

yes and change your pillowcase already.

When I lived in texas I got them regularly, Once I hadto have it lanced and cleaned out, no fun, they clamp your lid and numb it ( mine didn’t numb to well as felt everything)and cut it open then swab it clean. Use baby shampoo and q-tips to keep it clean, warm wash cloths twice a day. If it gets worse get medical help.

Moved from texas to AZ and the problem went away.

I had a chalazion which is usually on the upper eye lid and non-infectious.

To get rid of it, they cut inside the eyelid, scrapped it out and close it up. Doc told me that I had a 5% chance of it coming back… guess what? it did.

So went through the operation again and that one hurt more than the first. This time he not cut from the inside but the outside and now it’s finally cleared.

That was fun!!!

These are the eye mites. In both cases, the dust mites and the eye mites, eat dead skin.

If your eye is brown, you might have to use a suppository.

For fucks sake guys, he needs boric acid. Just wash your eye with it a few times a day and pop that bitch if you can, it’s a zit after all.

“A boron compound used as an insecticide, particularly against ants and fleas. Although it is considered moderately toxic, boric acid is not volatile and thus does not emit toxic vapors. Formerly used to clean and dress wounds, boric acid is absorbed through broken skin, and deaths have occurred from that use. The major hazard from household use is accidental ingestion or inhalation of dust.”

Better go to the doctor for this. Boric acid is toxic in high doses. Its okay in certain concentrations… you can even use it on infants.

But your doctor knows exactly how much to prescribe, and how often it should be used.

Consult a doctor before putting any shit in your eye.

Washing the eye with urine works too I’ve heard.

But it has to be the urine of a virgin produced at midnight on the first night of a full moon.

Too bad, I don’t know any virgins.

Doesn’t have to be female.

My contact lens solution has boric acid in it. So does the re-wetting solution that I drip in my eye to moisten them. Die mites die!!!
