Yep, it will.

On a side note: I am going to keep farmer walks as a staple for a very, very long time. I like having bigger traps/forearms, and I really want my grip to finally join the party, and quit failing me. I will keep it as a staple until I can do 6 trips with 300 total pounds.

After that I will likely have had my gym moved to the garage/basement, then I will buy some farmer walk handles. Who knows, I might even catch up to some of the strongmen on here after awhile.

How does one hitch a sumo DL?

Losing one’s grip on the last two inches of range of motion, bending knees, then attempting to squat it. To be honest, I probably never fully locked it out, and the hitching didn’t really help.

I have seen it all now haha. I can die happy.

I tried pulling a couple reps sumo the other day. Felt pretty good. I am going to keep playing around with it when I am done with my big work for the day to see what form feels best for me. Then I may incorporate a bit of it as assistance work. It felt wildly different from what I normally do.

I do them with low hips, and use as much glute/quad as I can while turning it into a squat with the bar in my hands. I do it that way because I really suck that way, and it trains what I am weak at… It also has a better carry over to my squat, and to my conventional deadlift in my opinion.

Nope. That is with the bands assisting me. I did that for the reasons above, to get my max feeling light, and to raise the amount of weight I have handled in my life time (like the future method).

Louie simmons uses reverse bands for the future method which is essentially what I am during here. So the squats I did today will be aiding me a week from now, and next training cycle.

I have no idea how conjugate method works haha. So it is the opposite of using chains or bands in a regular fashion?

Still killing it.

I second the youtube account request.

Basically, it maximizes bar weight. You are normally supposed to attach a mini/micro on the bar at the beginning (enough to squat 5-10% more than you could at the moment) of your training cycle. Then try to hit that weight at the end when testing. I have really never tried using it like that, and I prefer it closer to my squat, but I may try that now that I can use reverse bands again.

It is used to overload the top/make you get used to resisting a heavy as weight that wants to crush your spine. It requires less stability than bands/chains (it actually helps maintain a bar path), but it requires a lot of stability walking it out, and keeping your position at the top.

I like to use it for the purpose of getting used to more weight than I can handle, and have a higher up territory that I sort of have handled, and make the weight feel not as heavy and foreign when it is time to squat with only free weight. That to be honest is one of my weaknesses: walking the weight out, and being defeated before I have even sat back.

Also a side note: Use chalk when squatting a max. Chalk the bar up where it will contact your back, and chalk your hands on your last set, or two. It provides a nice grip on your back, and lets you get a vicious grip on the bar with your hands that allows amazing tightness.

Makes sense to me.

nice work man, you’re killing it. I need to do some suitcase deadlifts today. I did them a couple times and I think my spine ripped out.

how do you do DB leg curls? I’ve done them once but thought the DB would fall on my nuts well before I got to a heavy weight. I bet I could rig up something with the dip belt
