I grew up on these movies, so not sure how I feel about this. Personally I think every remake that’s been done was kinda pointless. They just put out a second rate version of the original with very little imagination involved. Having said that, from the trailer it looks like Krueger was wrongfully accused so he’s coming back to exact revenge, so that’s a cool angle and his face looks creepier/more realistic. I’ll see it in the theater.
The remake of Friday the 13th was good. I have no doubt bay will turn this out. I got all of the original series on DVD and seriously, even though I wasn’t old enough to watch any of them until the 4th or 5th one came out (I remember sneeking in to watch Freddy’s Dead at the movies in junior high I think), there were many corny turns those older movies made simply because they were at the center of pop culture for so long.
I do hate that Englund won’t be in this at all or even as a cameo, but the dude is getting up there in age now so I am not sure he would set the stage of a redo of the concept.

You think so? Aside from that bangin’ chick with the fakies in the begining I thought it was pretty average, haha. Freddy’s dead was probably my favorite of all of 'em. I saw it in the theater and the last 20 minutes or so was in “Freddy vision”. I still have those 3-D glasses! I’m concerned about Bay doing this too. One thing’s for sure there’s gonna be the sun in your eye camera angle for a good solid 15 minutes… Is it confirmed that Englund won’t be back at all? If so that’s pretty gay.

You can insult rap music all you want, White Flash. But leave Friday the 13th alone. I really liked the remake. A lot.

I fuckin’ love horror movies and I love Freddy! I think I’m gonna listen to some Dokken - Dream Warriors!
…Seriously though, this is boss. Freddy scared the hell outta me when I was little (only movie character to really have the effect), I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with him now![/quote]
Damn, I think I still have that cassette!
Wes Cravan’s Nightmare was a great addition to the Elm Street series.
So Friday 13th remake was good? I avoided it thinking it would suck, I’ll have to watch it now.
Fuck American movies that are a ripoff of Jap movies
Happy now?
Crikey no need to get your knickers in a twist mate.
Jap Horror isn’t really my bag hence why I said ASIAN.
I’m more into my Hong Kong Cat 3 horror shit. Stuff like The Untold Story and Ebola Syndrome. You should check them out once you’ve calmed down a bit.

I’m calm. Its just that anything I don’t believe, I will denounce it with cursing, hatred, and violence.
Fuck Hong Kong, too.(Anger is not directed at you)

The 1st one was good because Craven knew how to create atmosphere without resorting to cheesy ass Arnie style wisecracks which pretty much ruined all the other films. The one that was 3D was really bad. Nostalgia tends to make these movies seem better than they really were.

Dude, I just literally lol’d. I don’t think you understand my love for Jason Voorhees. I wore a hockey mask and weilded a plastic machette for Halloween [and sometimes for Tuesdays] from the time I was 7 ‘til like 12. Also, Kanye West sucks! LET YO’ SOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUULLLL GLO!!
It looks good. I think it will be a lot like the Friday the 13th remake though. It will be watchable, yet leave you unsatisfied. Not enough of this, too much of that, etc…
I think Jackie Earle Haley is a great choice to put the glove on, he will definitely do the role justice. But I wonder how much of the OG Freddy will remain… most notably, Kreuger’s one of a kind laugh. It will be very disappointing to sit through a Freddy movie and not hear that demonic cackle.
I think that this movie will be interesting to watch. I like the preview but I am hesitant to pass any sort of judgment based on a trailer. We all know that trailers are made to get you to watch.
The only thing I can say that looks good from the trailer is that Freddy is played in a more serious role like the first original one. Cause after the 1st Freddy was played in comedic role IMO. This Freddy looks dark and scary edgy. This is how it was ment to be.
A few years ago on Halloween I bought all 6 of the original Nightmare On Elm Street dvds for $2 each after rebate. Best $12 I ever spent. The one (3 or 4?) called dreamwarriors is awesomely cheesy.

Damn straight. The dude is a child rapist, child killer, and sick bastard. They kind of went away from that and made him a jester.

It was the one with a young Patricia Arquette. I have every Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmares on VHS. I need to upgrade to DVD. 4 was where Freddy eats the pizza with the kids faces in the hambuger. These movies are the shit and I hope Bay doesn’t fuck this up.

That’s one of the many awesome things about Freddys dead. They show Freddy getting beaten by his dad [Alice Cooper] for no reason, kinda showing how his craziness spawned. They also have the montage of his cellar with all of his different gloves.
Wow really? Fuck Michael Bay. I have yet to see a movie of his that I like. Leave it to him to fuck up a classic. I think I might sneak into this one and be the loud obnoxious asshole who pretends to be scared.
