Is there a limit on how much olive oil you should consume in a day/week? I bought a bottle and loved it so much that I ran through it in about two weeks. How much is pushing it?
Are you gaining more fat than you want?
If so, cut back on your oil intake.
How much weight do you want to gain?
I’m not on a low-carb diet, and I’m not sure how much weight I want to gain. I feel confident about working out and eating, but I’m not sure where to set numerical goals.
If you had to buy a seatbelt for your toilet, scale it back a notch or two lol. Other than that olive oil is a very healthy fat source and I doubt you’d be able to down enough to do any sort of harm to your body.
Right now I’m eating 168g/day of EVOO, though I do balance it out fairly with other fats. The biggest thing you have to worry about is the high n-6 content, so make sure you eat a lot of fish oil with it.
I’ve gone extended periods of time eating 450g/day of total fat, and tried 500g/day for a week at one point. I was eating low-carb, but it didn’t negatively effect me physically or mentally. You should have seen the look on the doctor’s face when he asked me what I was eating to help lower my cholesterol. It all comes down to balance and variety though.
I cook everything in Olive Oil. Try Sicilian DOP. Wonderfull grassy flavour. I drizzle it over scrambled eggs, veg, make marinades just out of tomato, garlic and oil. Love it.
