A Gardening Thread

Fuck the only gardening I know is in smurfvillage apps in my ipod and I know better herbs from the elder scrolls: oblivion than from real life.

Bump

miloofcroton- I’ve always found worm bins to be a hassle unless you can get a very solid amount of bedding material and the best stuff comes out of a regular compost bin. Also, if you have kudzu in your area, that makes an excellent addition to normal composting bins.

Does anyone have any experience with Hugelkultur? I am planning on putting in some pear and olive trees using individual Hugelkultur mounds for each tree.

Anyone have recommendations for good fall/winter crops that I could plant now? I live in a Mediterranean climate, dry summers, wet winters. It’ll probably average lows in the 40’s throughout the winter, but we get a lot of days with lows in the 30’s and even a few that get down into the teens/lower 20’s.

Did anyone have any success with their garden over the summer? I had a pretty harvest, except for some reason I didn’t get a single fucking tomato from my brandywine tomato plants. I don’t know what the fuck happened.

What about indoor herb gardening? So far, I’ve killed everything I’ve ever planted inside, but I was thinking that if I ate it first, maybe that wouldn’t matter.

Whoever mentioned garlic in this thread is off-base.

I mean look who started this thread!

Hah!

Mine was so-so. The herbs turned out good, but I got busy with school and neglected the other stuff.

No idea on the winter gardening though.

I was very offended. People are so insensitive to vampires…

If that is true that’s fucking awesome.
