god damnit.
this whole show is a fucking tease I swear. I realize there are 7 books, but god damn, as awesome as this show is, it’s also annoying as hell.

awoot! So damn good. Watched episode 10 on ‘letmewatchthis.com’ It was epic. So much shit is about to boil over.
“I’ve killed a fat boy already, I bet you havent killed anybody. I like killing fat boys.”
or something or rather.
One thing that’s starting to get on my nerves: Peter Dinklage has the WORST British accent ever. It’s really, really terrible. The guy who plays Jaime does a much better job because he doesn’t try to overdo it so badly.
I started reading the books last week and finished the first one by Friday night. The books are way better than the show.
Already about 200 pages into Clash of Kings…
I spent all day yesterday catching up, have missed the last 5 episodes. So far at least they are following the story line of the book. When I was reading the first book, I almost put it down after he killed Ned.
Oh come on, last episode was such a tease. I’m happy for the dragon thing though. I like the Targaryen house.

My wife was so pissed she didn’t even want to watch last night. She had nightmares about it.
I have to say I really feel for Sansa now. She’s in a rough spot.
LOL at Grand Maester Pycelle actually being a spry old man and pretending to be hobbled. That was great.
BOOK SPOILER
The one place where I think that the show has done a better job than the books is with Theon Greyjoy. I just read his first chapter in Clash of Kings, and I think if I hadn’t seen the show I would have been very surprised that he had such lofty ambitions and was actually a huge dick (as shown in his treatment of the galley captain’s daughter).
Also, Stannis sucks, and I’m really starting to like Sandor Clegane.
Really, really fantastic show.
haha what a fucking finale! I nearly jumped up and cheered during that final scene! =D Awesome fucking stuff, really is. Definitely reading this.
Great show, my wife and I are reading the books as well. Hard to believe these books have been around since 1996 and I had no clue.
I liked the scene with the sword fight between Ned and Jaime in the show, actually was pretty disappointed to read that Ned’s leg was actually broken by his fallen horse as opposed to the awesome fight in the show. Other than that though, the books are superior.

Theon is a royal cunt in the books- he’s introduced kicking the deserter’s head away like a soccer ball laughing in Bran’s first chapter.

Spoilers and Book spoilers
Overall an amazing series so far. I thought the series did very well with Ned, Arya, Cerci, Jamie, and Tyrion. I didn’t like the actor playing Jon at first (too prettyboy), but he seems to be a good actor. I’m not a huge fan of the actors playing Rob or Kat.
I was a bit disappointed in the direwolves. Not enough of them in the series and not enough of their “story”. Also, Ghost looked like a cute puppydog. In the books, I remember horses being scared to be next to him… Shaggydog was wild, but not wild enough, IMO. And Bran’s dog barely made an appearance.
I also wanted more of house Tully. Did I miss the Blackfish or was he not a part of it? Where was Kat’s brother?
The ending scene with the dragons was a 6 of 10 for me. See the pic above
Overall AMAZING and much better than I had expected. I really enjoyed it a lot.

I am British and it’s not that bad. It is affected, but the character is quite flamboyant so I can live with that. The accent sounds a lot like Richard Wilson (One Foot in the Grave - original British version, heh) which is really posh Scottish rather than English.
As for the rest…glad the last episode was a bit more upbeat at the end after last week’s downer but damn, I did feel bad for Sansa even though I disliked her to start with. I wish she had pushed the little twat off the bridge. He’s a psychopath.
Just finished Clash of Kings. Holy fuck, shit gets real in this one. They’re going to need at least 15 episodes to do it justice.
I had no idea this series was from a book…I will have to look into it when I finish my summer reading.
I liked the season finale

I agree about the wolves, now that I’ve read the first two books. I didn’t get a sense of how incredibly important they are to the Stark kids (and Jon) until I read the books. They seem like they’re just ordinary pets (thought they are direwolves). The connection between them isn’t there yet. Maybe they will get into that more in the next season.
I have no idea how Clash of Kings is going to be packed into one season. It could easily be 20 episodes without being slow at any point.
Well if the show is a hit in the ratings they would love it to last for 20 episodes or more.
While I love tits as much as the next man, does anybody think they are kinda over doing the soft core porn angle? I mean the whole scene with the two whores was very drawn out. Again not the reason I watch the show.

That was my main complaint of the first episodes. Many TV shows and movies use gore and sex to hide its low quality, but I don’t think GoT required so much of it.
That scene with those two girls must have been awfully awkward for families watching the show together…

I watch them alone, none of my older teen kids like that kind of show, but the wife would have been WTF are you watching?

Yeah, exactly. Imagine she sits down to watch it for first time and it’s like, that episode and it has that scene.
Some nudity has been fine, like, Daenerys first scene and so on, but some other stuff…
Lol, yeah, my wife noticed that scene as well. She wasn’t watching the show, but that caught her attention. I don’t really care about it myself. Sex sells. So if it improves the ratings and they can make the next season 20 episodes or more…go for it I say.
