A Clinical Study of One

Cardio complete
Treadmill 17 minutes + 5 minute cool down at 5.1 mph for 1.74 mile total. Warmth at 6 minutes, sweating at 7. Some breathlessness which surprised me. I didn’t expect any trouble at 5.1. Today’s musings dedicated to Kimba, because this last month there were times I was on the treadmill and almost crying as I said “someday, I will not be able to do this. Today is not that day”

If I can run, someday I won’t be able to. Today is not that day.
If I can deadlift 200 lbs, someday I won’t be able to. Today is not that day.
If you can squat, someday you won’t be able to. Today is not that day.
If you are doing PT because your elbow just got rebuilt, someday you will not be able to. Today is not that day.
If you can walk, today is not that day.
If you use portable oxygen to breathe, you can breathe. Someday you will not be able to. Today is not that day.

Whatever you can do, say it with me: TODAY is NOT that day!

Main lift: military press
1x5 at 45, 50 1x1 at 55, 60, 65, two singles at 72.5. I was very happy with the first single which felt easy compared to last weeks totally body crushing rep. That made me think I might be able to get all five singles at 72.5 but no luck. The second was a grinder that took like five minutes to get up. But it did go up.

Accessories
Lateral raises 3x8 with 8s
Front raises 3x8 with 8s
Bent over laterals 1x5 with 10s

I don’t really think the mods will allow nipple pics so Imma post a blurry ass pic.

Thanks for stopping in, goddesses.

Blurry butt pic.

Nice butt! >SMACK<

Looks like a killer MP day. Win is a win on that second rep, I am sure 5 will be there shortly.

I’m a big fan of the “today is not that day” mantra. Thank you! (and also thanks for obliging to my nipple request on the previous page. I love to have my demands met)

Spider, 72.5 on the MPs is AWESOME! If I’m feeling good tomorrow night, I might try for 70 lbs. which was my 2011 goal.

The “today is not that day” mantra is excellent for re-focusing on gratitude. Its helped me through some challenging times. I’m happy that its helping you now.

Woo-hoo! That is one juicy looking bubble butt!! Nice work there, woman.

Lol @ a 5 minute grinder. Wish I could’ve seen it! I love watching a struggle. Just makes victory all the more sweet. Is that wrong of me? Either ways 72.5x2 is great stuff!

Also loving the “today’s not that day” mantra. I’ll def be using that. Muah!

Thanks masch, I used everything I had to get that second rep!
Kimba, do try for it and imagine us there encouraging you and the celebration that will occur when you report it.
Lula, I am so glad to oblige!

Hmm, on this computer screen your really can’t see any detail in the butt pic. I’ll try to do better.

Cardio
Yesterday I went for a hike up on Kenosha Pass instead of working out. It was beautiful and then I spent the rest of the day eating chocolate and searching for authentic cheesesteaks. This resulted in a 3 lb gain overnight which I’m going to leverage as ‘bulking’ I spent a lot of time talking about energy systems, bodies, health, etc.

Today
1.75 miles in 17+5 = 22 minutes at 5.2 mph. Warmth and sweating around 6-8 minutes.

Later: deadlifting.

Powerful women are as badass as honeybadgers. Go get your PR.

Love that lil booty!!! :)!!

Powerful woman! How nice to see you. Come closer. You… you know… I never noticed how startlingly attractive you are. Wow, seriously. You must get this all the time, but… do you work out?

Quick clinical study note:
When I eat carby food I pass out. I forgot about that because I generally don’t eat crap but I got KFC for lunch because I was running late. A side of mac and cheese and a mashed potatoes and bam! I’m lucky I made it to the couch or there’d be a puddle of drool on the desk by now. An hour later and I’m awake. Do NOT take carb power for granted. Brought to you by the ongoing scientific study going on in Arachne’s body.

Carbs are hard for me too. ODing on them makes me feel…logy? I don’t pass out, but I don’t feel on the top of my game either.

I’m lovin’ the one-woman experimentation! Just don’t eat KFC anymore, K?

Hey Kimba, your ass looks really good. I will stay away from the KFC, promise. But on the other hand, deadlifting was great today some maybe I need some of the nommy goodness knowwhatimsayin?

Main lift: deadlift
Decided on sumo today. I keep going back and forth but sumos are a total back-saver for me.

1x1 at 175 hmmm 175 feel easy too I tried to put 10 lbs on for 185 but my coworkers accused me of being a pussy and so I put on 20 instead.
1x1 at 195 wtf! this doesn’t feel like my max at all! so …

TADAH! 1x1 at 205! PR!! Even more exciting, it was not a grinder whatsoever. Smooth and sharp. YAY!! It’s a good way to end the year.

Overhead squat 1x10 steel bar
Pullthrus 1x5 140 (cable)
One leg bb deadlift 2x5 at 55

You all are marvelous!

Congrats on the deadlift PR. That’s my max as well.

Thanks Dani! I’m still buzzing about it. I think I’ve got more in there.

Bench day
Main lift: bench
I’m still struggling to press 100 lbs. I’ve hit 105 before, so I’m not sure why I’m having so much trouble.
1x5 at 45, 50, 55, 60
1x3 at 65, 75
1x1 at 85, 95 100fail
3x1 at 100 but with a spot. My spotter swore it was “all you” but I know he’s a fucking liar. I’m not claiming it. I was so annoyed at missing these I did a bunch of random volume to guarantee soreness and the fronts of my shoulders are toast.

1x3 at 75
1x9 at 65
1x11 at 45
1x6 at 60

Light bb military press 1x7 at 45
Decline situps 1x15

Cardio later. No drinking, but New Year’s eve is coming.
Mood: fair.

/edit I forgot I started adding some yoga stretch first thing in the morning. During my hike I identified my three goals as: healthy longevity, mental health, and hotness. I realized some yoga would probablh help all three, so two rounds of sun salutation. STIFF! /edit

Hope you all have gorgeous Friday and that life returns your affections.

NICE pr!!! OH YEAH!!! :D!!!

Thanks Brute, you’re a doll. I’m just trying to keep up!

Cardio
Treadmill 1.75 miles in 17+5 = 22 minutes at 5.2 mph. Started warming and sweating way early today ~5 minutes in. The lights were out in the gym so the experience was surreal, like jogging in an abandoned warehouse. And, whoah. I have to tell you I feel really good right now. YAY!

Also I forgot to mention my deadlift PR may have been entirely fueled by farts. I’m not much for talking about bodily functions, but I’m just glad half my audience was nearly deaf.

If you came here seeking knowledge, may knowledge leave within you.

Ha ha! Well done in any case - and glad you are feeling good.

Mood is fair after a DL PR? Are you crazy? Don’t you know the sun rises and sets with training PRs? Get your priorities straight!

Thanks, Cal. I’m still working on your web comic.

Snap, I think 210 is what I need to feel really really good! Next week, pro.

Just getting caught up here, interesting dialog, that is meant in the best way! Keep it up girl

Aw, a picture of your lovely delts for me? Thank you, Spidey! Maybe 2012 is the year the shoulder for us! Your hike sounds just wonderful.

Happy New Year to you!
