99 Problems and a Bench Ain't One

Yea the side effects on some stuff can really suck… I don’t take much just a pre-workout(jack3d) post workout(cell mass) protein(syntha-6) and a multi(animal paks) since I started taking the animal paks with the cell mass post workout my recovery has been much faster…[/quote]

Nice! Where do you get the cell mass and animal paks? I’ve been on opti-women’s multi for a while but I’ve never felt like it makes much of a difference for me. I’ve never been able to handle pre-workouts - they always make me too nauseous - but I swear I should get paid for how much I push Syntha-6 on people. Still trying to experiment with different supps, I made myself wait a year before trying anything beyond protein powder or a multi. I wanted to develop good diet habits first so I didn’t blow all of my money on extra stuff but waste it by eating shit. Now that time has come, so goodbye paychecks.

Well to be honest I don’t like jack3d at all but I am going to use it up LOL the I actually bought my animal paks at a local grocery store but its not a store that is very widespread. Most of my supplements I have ordered from Bodybuilding.com although I’m sure this site doesn’t like me posting that LOL when I bought the animal paks they were 40 dollars and come with 40 servings, they might be cheaper online… oh and you better be okay with taking pills, there are about 9 of them and a few that are HUGE!!

Okay, thanks! I’ll have to check them out, I’m already taking a few horse pills for my cutting cycle so a few more won’t kill me lol. Better than taking to drink some kind of powder, at least for me.

Yeah, powders suck lol. I’d rather just throw back a pill than have to drink twenty different supplements every day. I guess I’m just lazy? Ah well.

5/14/13

Bodyweight/Accessory Day

3x5 pull-ups
2x10 pistol squats
5x5 handstand push-ups
2x10 hyperextensions 40 lbs
2x10 seated cable rows 110 lbs
2x12 tricep pushdowns 30 lbs

5/17/13

Heavy Compound Day

3x3 deadlift 225 lbs
3x5 bench 110 lbs
3x7 OHP 65 lbs

Didn’t have much time to work out today between work and needing to film some demos for my personal training, but I at least got the main part of my leg day in.

5/19/2013

3x3 squats 150 lbs
2x12 hanging leg raises

And since we were filming anyway, my husband got me doing one of my sets!

5/21/13

Pull-ups (8 reps the first set, 6 the second, 4 the third)
2x10 assisted pistol squats
5x5 handstand push-ups
2x8 hyperextensions 45 lbs
seated cable rows 110 lbs, 12 reps the first set and 9 the second
tricep pushdowns 30 lbs, 12 reps the first set and 8 the second
1 mile on the treadmill at 5 mph

I am so not built for cardio… but I really need to start doing more of it while I’m on this cut. I went into the gym with pretty low energy to begin with otherwise I would have done HIIT, because my legs basically disappear when I do LISS and I’m not giving up what little mass I’ve gained dammit.

Can I ask what “LISS” is? Oh and I am not built for cardio either!! I have been trying to hit 20-30 min on the treadmill with a good incline and keep my HR over 140 ish… I am thinking about backing off the gym to mon, wed, fri and using tue, and thur to really hit some cardio… maybe running bleachers or something because I need to improve my conditioning by ALOT!! LOL

Good workouts my friend. I’ve got 99 problems and my bench IS one of them…ha Just wanted to say hello to a fellow Texan. BTW, NASA (powerlifting fed) is a great one to get involved with.

LISS is low intensity steady state aka endurance work like keeping up a jog for a few miles. It’s what I suck at haha. The mental blocks I get with endurance work are insane. It’s so good for you though! Good for you for adding it in to your routine, you’re braver than I am lol.

Thanks, and hi! It’s cool that there seem to be a few Texans here. And thanks for the tip, do you know if they have any comps in the Abilene area by chance? I’ve been looking for something local and I haven’t been able to find anything so far.

Here’s today’s workout… it seems like something always happens that puts my strength day off. Yesterday it was a tornado warning! Thank god it went around us.

5/24/13

Heavy Compound Day

3x3 deadlift 225 lbs - Sticking with this weight for now so I can work on my form, I need to tweak my positioning a bit.
3x5 bench 110 lbs - I accidentally did last week’s set weight for two sets, whoops. I did 115 for the last set at least.
3x8 OHP 65 lbs

Awesome! I’m near Abilene.

You’re pretty much between a couple of places they have meets. They have some meets in Amarillo, Dallas, and Gilmer. They also have a few south in the Houston area. Heres a link showing upcoming meets. http://www.nasa-sports.com/Events_Powerlifting.html

I’m very familiar with Abilene. Lots of family and friends have gone to ACU. I’ve been out there a number of times because of that and my grandparents lived in Big Spring.

I thought that is was you ment by “liss” but I wanted to make sure… oh and I get bored with it fast!! A few years ago I would go to the gym late 11pm or so and just watch football while I was walking and I’d bang out an hour regularly LOL Now I just try9 to hit 20-30 solid min while moving the elevation up and down…

Yea I had a couple of friends go to ACU as well, and my football team plays a team from that area, we played them once in Abilene and once in San Angelo… I know there is going to be a raw meet in Austin in July… My gym is hosting it at the palmer event center in Austin…

Awesome, thanks! I was hoping to not have to drive two or three hours to a meet because I’m broke and I drive a gas hog of an SUV lol but if that’s what I’ve gotta do, that’s what I’ve gotta do. It seems like most of the nearest ones are in the DFW area.

But that’s cool! I haven’t been near Abilene long but it’s a cool place. I’ve heard Austin is amazing too, and what little I’ve seen of Fort Worth (only had a chance to drive through when we flew in to Dallas) was badass. At least the plus side of having to drive to different cities for meets is that I’ll get to see some cool places.
