950 LBS Squat RAW

Damn strong!

anyone else notice his weight being totally on the balls of his feet on the way up? heels nearly come off the floor
Looks to me like his right heel did come off the floor. Amazing.

To anyone questioning depth, look at the 10 second mark on the video, if not parralel it’s so close that I don’t care.

Big guy yes. camera dark and angle not good for judging but. COME ON DAMN THAT WAS 950LBS ON A MAN’S BACK RAW. I’ll leave it to the judges to say if he broke parallel. That was power.
Translated: since it’s a lot of weight we shouldn’t judge him so strictly.

Bullshit.
Haha. Call it what you want. But here’s the fact. If you are the big show, taking a big attempt, the judges cut you a little more slack than they cut a ho-hum lifter. I probably have seen this at almost every meet I’ve been to- APF, SPF, USAPL, WNPF- it happens everywhere. You don’t have to like it. But that’s how it is. That ain’t to say Rob’s squat was not legit. I think it happened to be a good squat. But if it were a little higher, it probably still would have passed.

It was a good squat, its hard to tell at that angle. The judges usually sit on small chairs or kneeling when judging depth.

Powerlifting is all about lifting the most weight for 1 single rep. Going too much below parallel doesnt help matters. That said, i would have called the squat good.

Given that fact, 90 percent of the lifting population wouldn’t even be able to partial rack lock out that kind of weight.

Damn impressive. Thats even damn impressive for an equipped squat.

big ups to this dude, but i would never want to squat that and also be his size
I just scrolled down looking for the punch line, but couldnt find it. Please tell me you’re kidding. If not, I just don’t even know where to begin with what’s wrong with that statement, but I’d say it’s either ‘nobody cares what YOU would want to look like’ or ‘at least the guys questioning his depth are on-topic’ but it might possibly be ‘don’t worry, no matter what you look like, you will never in your life squat that much’

A legitimate concern.

In fact, we all have similar fears.

Every time I drink a protein shake, for example, I go to sleep dreading that I may wake up looking like Ronnie in the off-season the next morning… With several Sandows on the table next to the bed, multiple cool and expensive cars in the garage, a family that supports me fully, a million fans… That would be horrible, right?

“Big ups to Bill Gates, but I would never want to be that rich and successful.”

You’re lucky, at least you’re a male. I accidentally took two protein shakes in one day and woke up with an adam’s apple and chest hair. :frowning:

The singlet color and angle make internet depth judging impossible. You have to be a fucking beast to even set that squat up, so mad props.

I hate to get involved in this one, but I think some people do not know what they are looking at. Parallel refers to the knee and hip joint. I have had others tell me that it was the hamstring, but it is the top of the knee to the hip joint.
I have seen in cases where commenters look at a video and say he/she was parallel, and they were especially high, but the hamstring was parallel.
Its a bad angle, so I won’t make a call on it.

Uh, so where did you get this protein powder? Just curious so I can uh…avoid it.

This is about as low as he gets. To me it looks like the crease of his hip would be at or below the top of his knee. I’m not involved in powerlifting, only commenting on what I see.

Are we seriously internet judging depth on a camera angle where his hips and knees are basically a silhouette? Go to youtube for that shit, give this guy his props where props are due.

Holy shit we are. This was actually the reason that he didnt want the video to be outin the first place!

C_C can I get that proteinz from you pleaz? I wanna get hooge gunz and look like coleman!

It does look a lot closer there. I stand corrected, although I’m still not sure if it really is parallel.

Anyway, I’ll say it again (because it deserves to be repeated): that is an impressive lift.

I think if it came down to it I’d rather have Kroc’s physique and freakish strength, as opposed to Wilkerson’s physique and superhuman strength; but that has a lot to do with the fact that I don’t think my heart could handle carrying that much mass on a daily basis. Otherwise, the amount of weight he is lifting is incredible, and you won’t hear me say a bad word about a man who can do that.

These commentators are becoming ridiculous.

When someone posts a video from that angle, don’t even bother commenting on depth. It’s impossible to tell. All these internet experts are now pausing and zooming in and examining.

Parallel is when crease of the hip breaks below the top of the knee.

If these commentators knew the above definition, they would not have bothered mentioning depth, because they would have realized that it’s impossible to see the hip crease because the guy’s belly and the monolift are obstructing that view.

Instead, I imagine most are looking at this guy’s gigantic quads and witnessing how his massive quads are 4 inches above his knee, thinking that must mean he can’t be at parallel.

These forums are going to shit. I’ve been on this site for 6 years now and it just getting worse.

Yeah man, I hear ya. If I could have X-ray vision or heat vision, I’d go for the heat vision.

Why the fuck is this relevant? It’s not like either of us is getting our goals anytime soon.

I don’t see why so many people are getting bent out of shape over comments on the guy’s depth. There are only 3 people who’s oppinion of his depth matter, and they said it was a good lift. Besides it’s almost like a right of passage these days, you know you’re not squatting alot of weight until people on the internet are bitching about how “high” your squat is.

I find it funny, that a bunch of nobodies want to say he didn’t go to depth and that the judges are wrong.

If it was good enough for an official judge(s) to say it passed, then it’s good enough for me.

Probably because multiple people have commented on his physique and said that it is not worth it to be that size and lift that amount of weight. I don’t really see how that was a hard thing to understand, but what the fuck, let’s overreact anyway!

Yes, the guy is a big fat fuck. He also carries a hell of a lot of muscle. He’s built whats required to be sucessful in powerlifting and taken it to its logical extreme. He’s basically the powerlifting equivalent of those ridiculously skinny marathon runners.

This post is hilarious.

A bunch of pinheads debating depth and body composition who don’t even realize the bigger issue is that he is wearing knee wraps which makes it not a RAWWWWWWW lift.

It is a squat done in belt and wraps. There is a SIGNIFICANT difference.

Additionally, he is a bull no doubt but to elevate himself to Mark Henry status is quite silly.

Funny shit.

Overreact? Cry more. Those bunch of people were told that they were idiots and their opinion didn’t matter, and you used one of your 3 posts to inform us all how YOU’d want to look, using two guys that you could never end up looking like anyway.

Your post was as valuable as my decleration that I’d rather have heat vision than x-ray vision. No one cares.
