I have red hair and pale skin, thanks be to the Irish. Does that mean I have this? And I can eat whatever I want? Pecan pie, here I come!

Doesn’t Prader-Willi also cause pale skin and red hair? I didn’t see the 750 lb man, but the half-ton man was dark-haired.
I have to agree that there is very likely a complex combination of factors that lead to this kind of morbid obesity…neurological, hormonal, physiological, emotional, nurturing, habits. The systems of the body are geared for homeostasis and survival, and it seems obvious that morbid obesity transcends the body’s natural drives and systems.

Just gonna play a little devils advocate here…

I just saw a show on Pittsburgh’s public broadcasting channel about a center in pittsburgh who have a disease where they simply can not feel full, which leads to eating a ton, and, obviously, huge weight gain.

Apparently it is not often diagnosed, which leads to a lot of early deaths, especially in children. They have programs that people can go through, and then for their entire life they need someone to prepare their food for them, and then to make sure the kitchen and refridgerator is locked.

Now, I am not saying that every one has it and that is their excuse, but it is certainly a possibility. Which goes back to the origional poster, saying to get them medically checked for hormonal imbalances.

I wish i could remember the name of the disease, but it escapes me.
OK, she ate everything, including the extra chips they give with the burrito. This is around 2270 kcals alone.
I’m cutting for my wedding at the moment. I consume no more than this amount of calories a day, and only if it’s a lifting day!

This is scary.

Did anyone else see the ironiy in this?

The lady is 1189lbs (539kg), and she goes to hospital because she has…cellulitis? WTF!? Was she worried that she fianlly got cellulitis on her wrist? Was that her warning sign?

You can die from cellulitis. It also usually presents along with fever and malaise so maybe she was afraid she was going to die. You can only assume that, while she won’t get up to take a shit, apparently she will get up if she thinks she will miss dinner due to immediate death.

I would be much more “politically correct”, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who is over 1,000lbs unless they have a true disorder. That is like feeling sorry for somone who repeatedly hits themselves in the head with a crowbar. Yes, they will eventually die from it, but do you really feel sorry for them if they simply won’t stop hitting themselves?

F*ck em…I didn’t put the food in their mouths. I can’t help it if people are weak…but I can laugh at it.
