I had an episode of Tachycardia. Woke up with a 170 pulse which lasted around an hour. Have monitored BP during, and while it was a little elevated…nothing too extreme. Have taken .25 mg Anastrozole/day during the cycle of 600 mg Test cyp/week (300 2x/wk) and had no other problems before this.
On a side note, this is my second cycle and while on the first I also had similar problems, but was hoping the Anastrozole would help with keeping the BP in check. I had decided beforehand, that if problems arose I would stop. I am 40 yrs old, have been lifting for 18+ yrs. Current routine is lift 6 days/wk…cardio 4-5/wk.
My questions are as follows…
Should I stop the cycle completely and start PCT or try tapering down before PCT?
Was kinda hoping someone could offer some insight that would change my opinion on having to stop. First cycle, I swole up big time. Started off at relatively lean 187, ended up around 215…kinda puffy but strong as an ox. Cut that back to around 200.
Started this one at around the same 200 and am now approx 210. Difference with this one being 600mg/wk vs first one of 400/wk, eating much cleaner. Also ran Dbol for the first 2 weeks of this one. I feel like the gains are less water and more solid maintainable mass.
Haven’t totally made up my mind on what exactly I’m going to do going forward, as strange as that may sound. The obvious choice would be to stop. Still have a day or two to decide.
Is this the first episode of cardiac abnormalities? What is your resting BP on and off cycle? What is your resting HR on and off cycle. Any of this info would be a huge help in determining a solution.
It could have been an intense dream, but not likely. You could have stopped breathing, after which you would wake up feeling a rush of adrenaline, breathing a bit deeper, and having a faster HR. I used to have sleep apnea and this was a normal occurrence. If you felt dizzy for a while after waking it could also point to a lack of breathing/oxygen.
If it happened once I wouldn’t worry about it, especially if you’re cardiovascularly fit and eating decently.
I’ll take small, weak and alive over big strong and day.
170 pulse is a major red flag. I’ll second bushy here and say immediately see you MD and be completely honest about what you are on.
If you are encouraged to discontinue gearing up then you probably should listen to that.
Perhaps you were looking for a ‘take this herb type of solution’ but considering you also had this problem your first cycle, this could be a very serious bid deal for you.
My guess is you have a pre-existing condition that you may have been previously unaware about. Possibly mitral valve prolapse or possibly a different condition (i forget the name) that basically is an extra neural transduction pathway in your heart that is getting tripped.
Keep in mind when on steroids… gaining weight your heart will enlarge to a degree… and this may be exaccerbating your condition. Reason i know this is i have mitral valve prolapse. Approximately 5% of the population has mitral valve prolapse however not many know they have it and very few get tachycardio or atrial fibrillation from it.
Do you get heart palpatations that often? Or under load while doing a set? You may not have to tell your doc about the steroids. Instead simply tell him your problem and he will send you for an echo-cardiogram.
Here is an important question… did your heart stay at almost 200beats/min the whole time or did it jump from super slow to crazy fast (like hiccupping its way through) and back and forth? If the answer is yes… u most likely have mitral valve prolapse. If no, it is most likely an extra neural pathway down the septum of you heart that carries the pulse from you sino-atrial node.
The risk u run with tachycardio is that if it happens all the time you could get a blood clot/stroke (although still slim). U can get surgery through a vein which cuts the extra pathway. Although i must warn you there is the risk of a doc cutting the wrong one… and you would be left with a pacemaker.
Regardless i hope this was informative and shed some insight on it.
Almost forgot. One thing that may help is to do more cardio. Why? Because your heart actually shrinks in size when you are in good cardio shape. Why? Because your body carries oxygen way better and your heart doesnt have to pump as hard to keep your muscles in check.
