What’s the deal? Did you trade handstand push ups in for kettlebells? At you leaving me on the handstand push up train by myself? ![]()
Crippler, I’m working up to handstand pushups. I though I’d try them on weekends with the kettlebell, once I get a bit stronger. I need to get my deadlifting up to about 360 to do handstrand pushups well.
5/3/17
Played with handstands with feet against door for support. Did 2 half handstand pushups. Surprised myself since I didn’t think I was strong enough yet to do that much. We’ll see.
well look what we have here… the return of handstand pushups… awesome stuff
OG, Try em, you’ll like em. They will enhance your PRs.
Great work. I agree. You need to give it a shot OG. I was a skeptic, but I’ve been won over.
Hahaha…I’ll leave the handstand stuff to the strong and wise.
OG, that’s how you can get strong; perhaps try them when lounging by your pool? You can use a tree for support.
5/4/17 back
kettlebell warmup
deadlifts 3 x 6 @ 135, 225, 315, 0 @ 335 (couldn’t find pair of 5s for 325)
SGHP 3 x 6 @ 135, 155, 155
machine pullovers 3 x 8 @ 165, 190, 230

No gym yesterday, rather pitiful handstand pushups attempt in empty office. About same attempt during lunch. Front delts sore last night, fine this morning. I’m not Crippler but these things produce results once a pattern is relearned, besides being fun to do. After today’s workout upper body presently feel about like a rock.

Done for week. May omit next week’s scheduled off week since I’ve made some good progress in this 4 week session. Birthday is nearing and I’m “trying to stay 54”.
My brother in law died yesterday. Hearse horses will probably laugh for days. He was a skillful lawyer but he treated my late wife and I so badly throughout life that I sometimes think he contributed to my wife’s death. I had to hire off duty police to guard house during her funeral in case he would try plundering it instead of attending burial. Foregoing is 4th edit attempt to reduce my emotion. I’ll “work the room” if I go, as he did at my late wife’s funeral for public effect.
.
Good luck at staying 54. Family drama is always hard. All the best to you.
Also I saw an older guy at they gym today cranking out handstand push-ups. He had some sort of harness thing with stirrups. He hung upside down from the cable machine. I’m not sure how many he did, but it was a bunch of sets. He told me he was 67 years old. He owned the push-ups.
Crippler, at this stage of working out, handstand pushups are just a matter of practice.
