I’m going with Ireland in glorious fashion…

hmmm, at half-time there’s shag all glorious about the Irish performance. O’Gara can’t manage to find the area beyond any of the white lines, the O’Connell-less line outs are akin to an under-13 schoolboys team. Giving away enough space for the Italians to score two drop goals in the first 30 minutes doesn’t bode well.

D’Arcy is a shining light though.

Still, I’m convinced they’ll pull it together in the next 40 minutes for a 20+ point win

Meh, it’s Paddy’s Day, the luck of the Irish is in the air!!!

Well, there’s still a few minutes left in the match, but Ireland just put their 8th try up on the board. I’ll stand by my initial prediction of “glorious fashion”

Now, GO SCOTLAND!!!

m0dd3r your prediction was right, glorious indeed. But that final allowed try (it WAS a double movement!!!) could prove to be an important decision. Should Ireland have taken the kick for the posts a minute and a half into extra time? Who knows.

So… is a 23 point difference enough to stave off the French??

GO ON THE SCOTS!!!

FUCK, I can’t believe that try was awarded to France. There was no way the TMO could see anything clearly after the scottish player got his hand under the ball. That’s total bullshit. Now I have to root for England damnit. Some St. Patricks day this is. Time to start drinking I suppose.

The problem is the ref told the TMO that the try would be awarded unless he could see a reason for it not to be given. Bad call on the ref’s part, the ball wasn’t grounded clearly, he made an assupmtion that favoured the French. And the TMO was Irish!!! This of course is the same ref who sent off the wrong Lamont brother 10 minutes earlier… fuppin mucket.

Just saw footage of the Irish team watching it from their hotel - lots of sad faces all round. Triple Crown seems a bit meaningless now?

Well, I’ve calmed down a bit now. It still sucks that the call was blown, and Ireland misses out on the hardware they deserve. But on the other hand, everyone with any sense knows Ireland should have won, and was easily on par with France throughout the tourney. Looking ahead to the World Cup, I think Ireland’s got a great shot at going far.

Well, as an Englishman im dissapointed as the team that routed france last week didnt get off the bus this week. We played a limited game, fairly badly. I dont feel, however that this defeat is as disaterous as some of the previous displays (Argentina) due to the youth of the squad. Some of them looked like paperboys.

Some of them played like that too but they can only go onto better things. Hook looks a very Useful player and one with true international class unlike that slick twat Henson.
Ireland were unlucky - that last try cost them the championship.

Credit to France, they pulled it out.
Shame England loss as i think this championship has been the most Entertaining for years. Pisses on anything the tri nations has to offer.

Four tries by props! Real forward play where a lighter side, overwhelms the heavier one. Peter Stringer being tackled and some wonderful interceptions and pickups from error. This day was real entertainment.

Now on to the World Cup…
