After Scotlands performance against France
I’m wondering if we aren’t in for an upset.
Super 14 starts this weekend! Hopefully my Bulls can do better this year.

Well done Scotland, dominating throughout the game. However, the French were reponsible for their own defeat. No real team play, too many individual rushes quickly taken down. That was not grand slam material. Fabien Pelous is beginning to look old, too…
I don’t care who wins, as long as it isn’t France!!
I like the Scottish team this year - heaps of attitude.

Hmm, so much for a French grand-slam. Excellent Scotland performance, great to see them beat the Frogs.
Looks like we’ve got a good contest on then![/quote]
Yep, I was delighted to see that result on BBC World yesterday. Couldn’t believe it, sorry I didn’t go watch the match.
As for our (Ireland’s) performance, it was rather lacklustre. We were lucky to pull the win from Italy and they definitely showed they’re nobody’s whipping boys for this tournament. I’m looking forward to their next few outings and I’d say they’ll upset at least two teams.
Please let one be England.
Meanwhile, we have the Hatedfrench next Saturday.
Carn the Scots. I’d like to see them win it but if not then the All Blacks.
Wait till Melbourne get a rugby team, then you can talk about watered down…and I come from Victoria.
I am just glad that the six nations doesnt include Australia. I dont think I could handle any more embarrasment at the moment.
We already lost the ashes to you, now we lost the world club challenge, one more loss to you fucking poms and I will have to kill myself.

youve got the tri nations later on this year to get murdered in. Isnt that enough?

Do I sound like I need to be reminded of these things??
I just have to forget about the national team and see if my Brumbies can do alright in the Super 14.
I am moving home to Canberra in 2 weeks so I will be there for the full season. I cant wait for a night at Canberra Stadium in -3 degree weather watching my boys play.

It’s going to be an interesting game in Perth against the western force. With Paul, Larkham and Giteau all nursing injuries and named in the starting line-up there could be a few problems for you. Wasn’t the pre-season game against the Hurricanes great…40-7 to the Canes. Hopefully we can pull it together this year.
Anyway, enough super 14 banter…
Six nations…England would be my pick without a doubt. It’s certainly looking like a decent show with good performances by Scotland and Italy early on.

Agreed - France, i feel may blow up in this tourny. Basically If one of the british teams loses to france, we still have a chance to win the triple crown. France dont. I belive that leaves us in a better state as now, basically france’s season is over.
England do however have to play france in Paris. Could be interesting. We definately need the centers to be sorted out by then.
Scotland look good, especially in the tight.
Looking for a good championship this year imo.
Hi Guys
I’m lucky enough to be the manager of the gym attached to the hotel where the England team stays during competition.
There’s some strong boys about at the moment especially Andy Sheridan, he has some impressive lifts especially when you take into account all the other training he has to do. You couldn’t meet a nicer guy either so long as your not scrummaging against him.
I’m not sure if England will do the Grand Slam but with France losing I think they’ll be champions one way or another.

whats your hotel gym like buddy?
any pics?
England all the way now!
Hi Supermick
The gym’s good espacially when you consider the surroundings which are very plush; we have a power rack, a squat rack, eleiko bars and bumpers, DB’s upto 50kg, as well as the usual rubbish such as technogym key system cardio equipment and weights machines.
I’ll try to get some pics on here in the next couple of days; I’m a very busy man:) Actually I’m off today, I’ll try to get it done tomorrow.
Regards Chris

That is cool!
I used to go to Loughborough Uni and a few of the Leicester Tigers would train there, inc Austin Healey - he was a jacked up little mofo and always wearing an England vest… only about 5’8" but really solid and strong.
Sheridan is a beast.
ENGLAND FOR THE GRAND SLAM!
Stu.
All rugby players should be big. Wales always used to field big guys but their current team is much smaller than Englands. not on. England dominated in the scrum on saturday due to sheer bulk.

somewhat agree.
There was a size difference of approximately 1 stone per man. England fielded 15 athletes on saturday whereas wales’ team represented more of a “traditional” rugby build - with higher levels of bodyfat than their oposite English numbers, especially in the tight 5. This has been the case for a number of years now. Compare Andrew sheridan with either of the jones boys to illustrate my point.
Andy sheridan who has a reputed 200+ kg bench and a more streamlined athletic look when compared to his welsh counterparts.
England: Voyce; Cueto, Noon, Tindall, Cohen; Hodgson, Ellis; Sheridan, Thompson, Stevens; Borthwick, Grewcock; Worsley, Moody, Corry.
Replacements: Mears, White, Shaw, Dallaglio, Dawson, Goode, Simpson-Daniel.
thats the England team V italy on the weekend. I picked them all in my prediction online competition except 1 - i expected lol to start.
Wales V scotland is a tough one to call IMO.
How you all got it wrong:
1)England- Grand Slam
2)Scotland
3)France
4)Ireland
5)Wales
6)Italy
Seriously though, I would expect England to go on and win it now, the French have really blown it with that loss to Scotland and are reeling from injuries and changes. England should definitely win the grand slam, and it’s going to be a close battle between the other teams (exc Italy) for second and third place. I really believe that Scotland can finish second though, with that performance against the french and the other teams suffering, Ireland with poor form, and Wales with injuries suspensions, and poor form. Scotland are the only team other than England with a lot of confidence at the moment, which is why I make that slightly strange prediction.

i reckon you are all under-estimating the italians. i reckon they stand a good chance against all of the other teams. i am completely willing to eat the humble pie should i get it wrong though!
im going with the welsh to beat the scots by quite a bit, england to get a close victory over the italians and france to beat the irish and reestablish themselves in the competition.
all in all i reckon it will be another good weekend of matches
