50% of Tax Dollars Going to the Military

By not participating in it.

It is really simple because essentially it is nothing more than ideas that shape the way people behave.

If people can be made to believe in certain ideas then it can happen just as easily as slavery was ended with the idea of the inherent right to life and liberty of all people – and not because of wars they were made to fight to oppose it.
So by choosing not to participate, you keep a government from over running a country? Hahaha, what fucking la-la land do you live in?

Pitbull, how do you “support” the military? and really, I am not just calling you out but everyone who makes this claim.

Did you get a yellow ribbon tattoo? or do you just mean you support all “pro-military” policy?

Seriously, how does an individual “support the military” without actually wearing a uniform?
Really, after reading posts like this, its easy to assume this guy has never worn a uniform. If he has in the past, then he sure has a funny way of showing it.

I do nothing for the military, except pay my taaxes

Hey Lifty, don’t you just love it when people assume you’re some shithead who never wore a uniform? For some reason a lot of conservatives treat the military the way liberals treat blacks and assume we must all think alike.

These people are not conservatives

The government – at least in the USSA – is made up of “the people”, supposedly. If the people who are the government do not participate in it then what is the ultimate conclusoin?

Is my logic fallacious?

And by the way I am doing my part by not participating in your government.

Your welcome.

I understand your logic, but thats all it is, theory. How do you get the people that are the government not to participate?

I see what you are saying, but you and I both know that it doesnt work like that, and never will. I am not a big fan of how things are done in our government, but to say that the solution is to just not participate, that will never fix anything.

First off fuck you.secondly why shouldnt 50% of our money go to the military, after all they keep us free.

Why doesnt anyone start shooting stock market exec’s, or washington fatcats.WHy dont more people bitch and complain about welfare and the poeple who collect.I think if your gonna collect welfare and make no effort to find a job the government should be able to make you sterile so you cant bring another burden into this country.
don’t sterilize them, use their children as cannon fodder. the war against the Iranians and Chinamen is coming.

Shouldn’t there be a requirement for someone to have at least a piss drop’s worth of knowledge of what he is talking about before starting a thread?
Perhaps, but whose going to enforce it? I think we’re stuck with the honor system here. I think some degree of accuracy would be nice.

Here is a link to a spreadsheet (from http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/Historicals/) which shows US budget distributions to agencies. You can see that we are currently almost at an all time low for Defense- Military spending (18.6% for 2010).

Just stumbled on this thread and was shocked to see that 50% figure (without citing a source).

I meant a moral requirement, so to speak. Rather than something enforced by others such as a moderator.

Yeah, I think you should be 50% right 50% of the time to post, at least.

pittbulll, my friend, please read the constitution.

Thank You,

Good thing I believe in experimentation.

QFT

How can a group of people that claim that the American government can not do anything well, be such staunch supporters of the Military.

What would you call a society that is incrementally layered to what the value they are to the society and incrementally compensated? Where the society is totally controlled and owned by the Government.

I am not bashing the Military; I am just trying to grasp an apparent double standard.

I agree:)

I am pretty sure when I look at the paper I get every year it says 35% of our tax money goes to the military. Or are we not counting entitlement programs because you are entitled to them they don’t count?

The governments job is the military, which every citizen should pay for through a flat sales tax.(prefer a voluntary tax but we are too far gone for that)
