5/3/1 Original & Beyond, Same Info?

I have yet to read the original 5/3/1. I intend to in the near future but my question is, Does the new 5/3/1 Beyond contain all of the same information as the first one? Or do I need to purchase both of them separately?

Beyond 5/3/1 assumes you know all the basics of 5/3/1. I would purchase the 5/3/1 Second Edition book, devour it, learn it and put it to practice for a good 12 months, then pick up Beyond. Just my 2 cents though.

Ok thanks Saeufer, that helps and is probably what I’ll do. I just don’t want to buy the 2nd edition, then come back a year later buy the Beyond edition and have it repeat the original plan with more info thrown in along. Have you purchased both of them?

I have bought both of them.
If you don’t know the program, go for 5/3/1 2nd edition first. No doubt.

This. I learned about 531 kinda late so I just bought the second edition and have no plans on adding anything to my workout. In fact, I need to take stuff away like AMRAPing every plus set instead of sometimes just doing the required reps.
