this thread has caught my attention for a few days and i have to add in my two cents. for starters, jawara im sorry to hear of your girlfriend, that is such a terrible thing and an unfortunate truth in our society as it is. noble as it is to try and help other countries get back on their feet,or even pick them up when they have always been down, we arent in any position to do that but to only make ourselves look good. celebrities milk that crap all the time. going on talk shows, patting him/herself on the back and practically applauding themselves for showing the world how much they care by telling the world how much money they have given those poor africans, and lived with them for two days, gets a photo op with a malnurished child showing the world he/she how caring and (not to mention unracist they are)compassionite they are, maybe adopting one or two of them and then go lecture the world about how ungrateful they are cause others are suffering worse than we are, and that they lived with them and they know what its like. and then go to a 5 star hotel, get bathed and cleaned, eat some gourmet food, hop on their multimillion dollar private jet back to the states, get in their limo, and go home to their 75 million dollar mansion with 25 bathrooms, then maybe go for a ride in their ferrari later on and go clubbin and the next day go on talk shows and go make themselves a good image. then of course you cant forget about the politician who does the very same thing (except live with them and adopt them cause it would ruin their political image) but so long as they are pictured there with a images of extreme poverty in the background and shaking hands with a couple of unfed families, they make sure they look as though they are the greatest of humanitarians.
we are the most hated country from what im hearing, and maybe for good reasons, who knows, but whats important, according to polictions and other so called do gooders is that we are supposed to look good. nevermind we go into countries that dont want us there in the first place, then change their way of life that is our way. expanding and converting the idea of our ways to everyone else is what its all about, and then when a country calls us on our bullshit, we then put them on the terrorist list, shit list (bush’s shit list anyway), and make them look evil just cause they didnt kiss our ass and decide not to waste the lives of their people and resources over our meaningless crusades that our government has made for us.
now on healthcare in this country, whatever system we got, whether its our current one, social, universal, alternative, or whatever crap they’ll come up with, you better belive that you will get the cheapest healthcare that can be provided. the system we got now is absolute shit. yes some would say its better than nothing, and thats true, but things can be a lot better. and it wont get better cause if our healthsystem became about curing the sick and ridding the world of disease instead of a business of making money, then everything would collapse. many would lose jobs, particularly in the healthcare field. and not to mention the big corporations that love those mega profits would fold and cease to exist. its all a business. the government can easily spend billions on aid for AIDs in Africa and can throw away billions of dollars, resources and American lives on some political crusade bullshit thats being done for the “good of Americans”. why cant the government spare a few of those billions to make things better for our country? theres enough money to make every single person on this earth rich, why not make our lives better, turn us into that country we are fabled to be even in our own constitution, and practice what we are preaching, and then it’ll spread and other nations can feel encouraged to do their own thing, not at all necesarily like ours but better their way? why dont we make every american be provided top notch medical care, so that diseases, illness, virus’ can be eliminated so that all can live and die naturally? the answer is so simple, money, and power. the governments only exist to keep people enslaved, to make us need them. cause if there was no war, disease, poverty, etc etc, then we wouldn’t need a government.
wouldn’t be necessary. nothing to police, severe patient shortage, everyones getting a first class education, people are fit, healthy, and happy. this is evil talk here as far as a government is concerned. so the result, the system is fucked up so that we keep giving up our civil rights willingly (as though we actually were truely free, just maybe a longer leash than other countries have) but we keep allowing our government to shorten that leash for us. we’ll end up like the world was portrayed in the movie Demoliton Man. we’d live in a world where it is illegal to eat red meat, do contact sports, smoke, drink beer or any alcohal for that matter, get fined for swearing, no kissing, and NO SEX!!! (nooo!!! anything but that!!!) and the only resturant to eat at is taco bell. (and they dont even serve fucking tacos, not even with maggot infested shit they dug out of a cows ass, cause its illegal) or even worse, we’ll end up like the world is in that movie Equilibriam, with christian bale. if the government found out you showed emotion, cried over a puppy they’d toss your ass in the incinerator. maybe thats the goal. who knows. but back to healthcare again, i happen to know how the system works, and if you think we have a great system, you are definitely naive and have no idea what is it is you’re talking about. my girlfriend is paralyzed from the shoulders down, depends on a vent, and if you think i can go on about this crap, trust me, she can educate you on how the system works. now after this long ass rant about this i may sound like im saying as though people dont get cured, or get better or get refused treatment, cause they do. only those who are fortunate to afford healthcare, or are fortunate to have top of the line insurance are getting the quality the rest of us could envy. the rest of us, may get patched up, but the price is, medical bills plowing through the roof even if we have insurance, it only covers so little, and that adds to the pile of bills that exist already, your not making enough money and have to give up your life working probably two jobs, cause your boss is a dick and wont give you a raise and more hours. its all just screwed up.
