First post and new to the topic. I’m a 47 male, symptomatic to low T. Looking for a boost to get back to my former self. Had lab work done (first thing in the AM, no fast) and came back with the following.
Test - 352ng/ml
Free T - 10.0pg/ml
Est - 17.6ph/ml
PSA - 2.1ng/ml
Hematocrit - 43.7
Of course a TRT center recommended me for a weekly Test cycle, AI, HCG(2x weekly)
Looking for some general thoughts on the results and recommendation.
if you have symptoms go for it, your test levels are clearly low, you have the symptoms, TRT should help. By cycle you mean the clinic offered you TRT right? If you’re talking about a steroid cycles your levels will be even lower after coming off. SHBG test would be helpful tho, helps interpret dose frequency. How’s your thyroid function?
To be TRT, you don’t cycle TRT, it’s a lifetime comitment. You go on and stay on, your levels don’t increase as you age, they go down and stay down without intervention.
You need SHBG and it will help you choose an ideal injection frequency. Testosterone panels get all the attention, thyroid shouldn’t be overlooked, check free T3, free T4, reverse T3 and antibodies.
Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab number and ranges.
The value that you get out of this process and forum depends on your effort and performance. The bulk of your learning is reading/studying the suggested stickies.
