Why do you have to be so mean? I didn’t say anything about small people, did I?

As far as the content goes, I don’t even try to respond to it, since it’s too dumb.

A good mentor is a humble one. I read through the entire “how do you train” thread about him and asked Prof X personally for advice a couple times, once about wrist pain I was dealing with, and another about a dip machine. Both times he responded with something along the lines of he “wouldn’t concern himself” with those issues.

I solved the problems on my own, and lo and behold, afterwards I read his log posts about how he had the exact same issues himself, and solved them the exact same way lol. It would’ve been helpful if he could have leveraged his experience to help me out instead of being unnecessarily rude and consequently, unhelpful to a newer trainer.

So when I print out ridiculous posts of his such as the classic “I’m too good for your DIY weight gainer shakes, but I got fat off a storebought one recently,” and add it to the paper mache Prof X effigy in my closet, you know that I’m not hating on the man because of his success.

Not a disease. It was first discovered in farmers that altered the gene myostatin to not be there and their cows produced massive amounts of muscle. The farmers thought they can get more bang for their buck in having one huge cow with lots of meat than 2-3 normal size cows. The myostatin modded cows ate everything and were costly. It’s mostly for shits and giggles now. In humans cases it’s a very rare.

I thought a good mentor is one who taught you to do something well. I don’t claim to be anyone’s “mentor” here so I am not sure what this statement was for.

I have ten years here writing posts that many actually did get something from. If you don’t, great.

My guess is, you look like it.

So “ten years here writing posts that many actually did get something from” has nothing to do with mentorship? That’s a lot of effort put forth to help people.

I didn’t attack you personally so please don’t guess at how I may or may not look as a result of your 10 years of posts!! Irondwarf is a classy dude and is nice to defend long term members of the forum. However, if you want to improve a community, you should have higher standards for each other and what goes on in the community.

What I find hilarious is the fact that no one else here seems to be held to such high standards.

LOL.

I watched the documentary about that kid too. He was only like 4 at the time so it was hard for the examiners to get him to do stuff to demonstrate his strength, but he could rattle out pull ups and sit ups no bother. Pretty impressive.

A quick bit of googling has revealed he now trains for gymnastics (he’s still just a kid though so who knows what he’ll end up sticking with, if anything). I guess we’ll know in ten years or so whether or not he’s champion material.

Edit: Cranky early morning post.

Live~Laugh~Love omg <3

Question, what are YOUR credentials to “correct” someone on anything?

Thanks, but LOL because I recall giving you an avatar of a runner who shat himself!

Classy indeed!

But hey some people like you don’t care or are turning a blind eye. I agree that ignoring might be the best option.
To quote Bruce Lee; ‘Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless and add what is specifically your own’

A good majority of the content of any thread around here is POV

If you regard prof x’s opinion as BS then ignore it and move on. Don’t clog up ANOTHER thread with petty arguments, ryan_b_96 is also guilty of this

Well, “own POV” is a very political correct to put it.

For a good example what I mean by BS, just look for a thread in the nutrition sub-forum about bulking shakes (can’t recall how it was called) some time ago. That is a perfect example of BS and several posters (incl. me) correctly made fun of Mr. X’s line of reasoning. I’m hardly the only one pointing out (or have pointed out) this stuff here but most have given up I guess or left TN.

But hey some people like you don’t care or are turning a blind eye. I agree that ignoring might be the best option.
wow. You really do need to get a life. I mean to follow a fella around a forum just to harass him seems pretty low to me.

EDIT TO ADD: Furthermore, X has contributed invaluably and unselfishly to this site since day one with ‘No BS’ advice. Many dudes have progressed due to his prescriptions.

But I can’t recall anything worthwhile that you have contributed. I might take your judgement of the Doc seriously if you were at least somewhat on par with him in the help department.

But as it stands you’re just a pain-in-the-forum, and your views on the Doc contribute nothing as well.
lol you mean like the way x follows me around tossing in insults in every posts.

he posts dumb shit all the time yet no one ever calls him out on it. e.g in another thread hes words were “strong small powerlifters have shit genetics for bodybuilding” how he came up with that i dont know. also lets not forget that steroids create different looking muscles.

the only advice ive seens X give is eat enough to grow and train all your muscles, that seriously it.

people like stu, ebomb, waylander and bonez you know actuall bodybuilders and knowledgale people, did or used to give out great advice.

haha the man considers himself one of the most knowledgable members of this site, yet he has no experience in actuall bodybuilding and hasnt been under 15% bodyfat in like 5+ years.

EDIT: this will be my last post regarding X, if he still wants to follow me around trying to make himself look superior andknowledgable then he can. i no longer give a fuck.

Just a heads up, in case they didn’t teach this in 11th grade English class this year, when you put things in quotes and say someone else said them…NOT rewriting what they said and making up your own interpretation with a defamatory slant is called “libel”.

If you have to mix words around just to have an argument, you already lost, kid.

X is quite the celebrity I see lol.
