3rd sex babes: Holy Grail of T-Men?

Not to start a beef every study I've seen noted that women had a significantly lower pain tolerance than men. The last one I read was in Pure Power magazine. From my experience in dishing out pain with ART, it holds true. It's easier to work on the gals, since their tissue will break up easier. some of the muscle heads watch out. They don't know aht they're getting into.

I really don’t think t levels have a lot to do with pain tolerance it’s more attitude, lack of anxiety, getting used to pain, possibly training experience, and a few other factors. A lot of these of course are very subjective. Most of the studies I’ve seen referenced used heat and pressure to determine.
To brag a little, I’m the only known person to bleed from an ART treament. Bled from the nostrils the first time i had my shoulder worked on. It took a 230 lb ART instructor a two handed contact with a lean in to break it up. Joe Pelino(sp) from Toronto was the guy. I think he was freaked out.

Say what you like about regression and excellence not being passed on and so forth, but in study after study on “gifted” children, the one - and only - factor that they virtually all have in common is gifted parents.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that all gifted parents will have gifted children or anything like that. But compared to the general population, there is most definitely a higher statistical correlation.

That’s what I mean oh pearl jam lover. Maybe in many cases women haven’t had the chance to experience pain as often as a man. They’re not socialized to chase it as often as a guy is. I have seen women athletes take a lot of pain. They’ve gotten used to it so to speak. I have seen the guys take ART a ton better, even with the added tension I have to use to get an effective treatment done. It literally takes more force to work on the guys than gals. More tension means more ’ “what the hell are you doing to me” stuff.

Dan - sorry about my misunderstanding, thanks for clarifying!!

MICHELLE: No prob.

EVERYBODY ELSE: Thanks for the feedback. Wonderful thread so far.

As for pain tolerance, an article in the newspaper told that, rather recently, some University did some research on pain tolerance levels for people. The conclusion: only one specific amino-acid did differ between the low and high pain tolerance groups.

Is this a coin-toss (50/50) deal? The study did not mention. But, man, does one amino acid change things and experience of the world…

Always fascinating. You have some kids falling flat on their faces (or cutting themselves on table corners) and feeling nothing, and others starting to cry at the first scratch. I guess that must be balanced by higher sensual pleasures (higher intensity for peaks) for the softies, otherwise low pain tolerance/sensitivity would be a useless genetic trait.
