I don’t know if anyone told you, but you can catch “gay” from movies, TV, books, art, and internet forums.

Don’t forget schools and churches. Ignorance and lack of discipline is the best way to keep the “gay” away.
Well it just came out over here yesterday and I thought it was entertaining.
People tend to be taking this film a little too seriously (although I’ll admit that I may feel differently if the subject matter was directly related to me eg. slavery), I didn’t see anyone feeling the need to tell everyone that there weren’t actually puppets blowing things up all over the world after the release of Team America, yet both are works of fiction.
As for the perceived lack of emotion shown by the Spartans I agree that this was a strength, it may not have made them “normal” or something you can particularly relate to but isn’t that the point?
This is exactly why I didn’t like Casino Royal, Bond was too flawed, too human. Bond isn’t supposed to get “played” like that.

As far as Casino Royale, you had to realize that this was supposed to be his FIRST real assignment. The timing of the story was before any others. “M” stated she had just given him “00” status and it was his first time killing someone at the start of the movie. For his first time out, he did great.

I hear you, and I did try to keep that in mind but seeing the character get so pussy whipped just didn’t sit comfortably. Looking at it through a real world perspective it was understandable but certain characters are supposed to be unrealistic and I would put Bond in that category.
I am reminded of a good quote after reading Flop Hat’s posts. “Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” It went something like that anyway.

Yes sir, you are right 100%. I’m a fool. I’ve tried to fix it, but there is nothing I can do about it. I’ve tried reading the classics, studying science, I even tried electroshock therapy. However, it turns out that I suffer from permanent foolishness.
I do have one last chance at achieving normalcy. I am going to look up all of your past post here at T-Nation and see if I can gain some wisdom through your obviously superior post. Wish me Godspeed.
Hard pressed on my right. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuver. Situation excellent. I am attacking.

I thought it was great. Sure the dialogue was kinda corny, the accuracy was really off,and it was unrealistic, but really, did you guys go into the theater expecting “Oscar”-Material?
I went for the action,im not sure waht you guys were gunning for. It was a great,“macho”-movie,nothing mroe, nothing less. If you didnt liek the movie for its blood and sex then you are a “Boy loving Athenian”
Well, after I read several of StevenF’s post, the only thing I’ve learned is that he likes the movie road house and that he doesn’t know how to have kinky sex. It’s not looking good for my final quest for knowledge.

What is really funny is that the Spartans and other Peloponnesians were the actual boy lovers. The Athenians weren’t nearly as much into the man boy love. In actual history the Spartan would have referred to those “woman loving Athenians”

Nothing like someone jumping into a discussion late and rehashing stuff that was already throughly discussed and put to bed.

And there is nothing like having the always vigilant PGJ jump in and make comments as if he is some kind of divine moderator or forum ethics hit man. Gee PGJ what would T-Nation do without you and your ceaseless efforts to control the unwieldy post from maniacs such as myself. What do you do in your spare time, police youtube for inappropriate content and previously posted videos?
wanker.
Gay or not gay, I don’t care, but those leather jockey briefs almost made me sneeze my soda! Talk about PC!
After finally having seen the movie, my only other comment is that, if that was how the Spartans fought, the Persians should have won in half an hour…

Sorry, I’m taken. But Flop Hat is the one with all the homo-erotic observations. Perhaps he could use a special friend.
I think that is the word you were looking for actually.
I really enjoyed the movie, but I can’t help thinking how much better Gates of Fire would have been…

Code of honor.
Some people have them, most don’t.
Warriors do.
