I started trt early this year. I finally had a decent protocol but dashed it because I wanted to get off AI’s. My current protocol is 200mg test cyp E7D. I have only been on it for two weeks, but I took an extra dose to front load, so I’m about three weeks in. I know these labs won’t tell me anything definitive at this point, but they’re cheap, so I would just like to get them done every couple weeks.
Anyway, right now I want to know if there’s anything I can add to the labs to try to find an underlying reason for uncontrollable hunger. It seems I have gotten hungrier and hungrier since I started trt. It doesn’t seem to get worse based on how much I inject; it seems to just get worse with time, as if it’s related to the length of time on trt rather than the amount.
And now it’s out of control. I eat until I’m uncomfortable, or else I’m bouncing off the walls. If I have something interesting to do, the hunger vanishes, so it’s definitely psychological to a point. But are there any hormones I can check just to rule out that it is partially hormonal?
I’m getting e2 done tomorrow and get results Thurs. Three weeks ago it was 46.4 and two weeks ago it was <5. My craving has been getting steadily more intense, so with the lower E2 it’s been worse, but it seems that may just be coincidental.
Welcome to your second puberty. Your blood flow is increasing throughout your body. Take a daily vitamin if you’re not. Your body is becoming more efficient at using up its reserves and burning fat. So get in the gym and eat 6 small meals a day until it subsides. Stay away from sweets or any of the bad stuff. Getting labs drawn is not necessary. The answer is sometimes as simple as you’re on 200mg/wk. Prepare to sleep, eat and fuck like a boss.
That’s not how this works, whenever you adjust your dosage from that point it takes 4-6 weeks for blood levels to stabilize, any change resets everything. So really after that loading dosage, your 1 week in and now 3-5 weeks until levels become stable.
Considering the issues you’ve had previously, this protocol really isn’t ideal. Guys that lack patience and are constantly making changes to their protocol tend to struggle long term.
The excess hunger should return to normal after about 6 weeks or thereafter.
Does that mean my numbers are fluctuating? Is that what happens before the stability?
Because if x is going in and x is going out based on the half-life formula, then can’t front loading (if done correctly) have your numbers mirroring where they’ll be at 4-6 weeks? And if the numbers are similar, then what is it that makes front loaded numbers not truly indicative of what’s going on in my body?
