Im sorry but is there any chance we can block topics from one person on this forum?
I understand this coach has the blue thingy so he can do whatever but its really annoying getting 3-10 announcements about new topics a day and see that its just this one coach making a topic for each of his YouTube videos, and no one ever responds or continues the discussion. Its just like a spam in an email.
Perhaps, could we have topics posted by T-Nation coaches, rather than members, flagged or placed in a separate sub-forum?
Articles are embedded into the community forums where people can interact, I don’t know why there isn’t a similar thing for short-form videos like this because it’d be super easy to set up.
These videos have value to people, clearly. A sub-section is massively necessary though I feel.
Yea, well honestly since no one debates anything in these spammed up 10 topics a day, it really feels like the young coach is using a “forum” to just get 3 more views for his youtube.
Most of the topics, actually, have already been discussed.
If this coach would have used a search function, he would have found that there are TONS of discussions about this, like Ways to Improve deadlifts, is not a new topic, you can just go and add your video to one of 20 topics about deadlifts.
I find it a bit offensive that if a person constantly makes topics that are already discussed alot, his topic gets merged with those while the Elite Coach can just spam the whole forum with short videos about stuff that is already in the forum.
Sorry, but for example, these 3 ways to improve deadlift are the most basic ones, and have been mentioned in absolutely every deadlift discussion there is on T-Nation.
Making a completely new, seperate Topic, without even writing in it, just linking his youtube, i believe could be even against the forum rules.
I mean it’s only a slight inconvenience, but I do still agree. He did have his own coaching forum not long ago but it disappeared.
C.Thib posts Instagram clips but it’s in his own coaching forum. Maybe just give Tanner his coaching forum back but label it Tanner Shuck shorts or something. It would benefit all involved. He’d get more exposure, there’s one place to find all his videos within the forum, and people wouldn’t have to be click-baited into what we thought were discussion threads.
Yes, its a slight inconvenience indeed but its annoying when you check for new discussions and see 7 new video spams.
I wonder if anyone who has some real say in this will ever read this. Even tho this is Tanners topic with the most replies, lol.
Maybe worth posting there and tagging a few mods. Feel free to use my solution idea as a suggestion. I feel it’s a thing most people would agree on tbh.
Will make a topic there.
Ok. Lets say that this is a fair point.
Are you willing to share any super secret, really advanced cutting edge ways to improve the deadlift?
There are none.
80% of stuff being pushed nowdays was out there 40 years ago. Find a diet or a training method that is revolutionary and originated in last 5 years. I dont think there is anything.
I wasnt saying people cant advocate same stuff, because beginners dont know it maybe. I was saying that Tanner could add his video to a topic that has already discussed it. There was really no need for a NEW discussion about the most basic exercises to improve deadlift. He is just spamming for views, not actually giving info. This is a debate about abusing the forum, not about the deadlift.
The original post was about deadlifts.
You turned it in to a debate about abusing the forum.
Yea, i know, im sorry, i couldnt find any way to express how i feel about the authors topics.
Anyways, no one seemed to care about this, nor any of his other topics, before i posted something. My guess is that you wouldnt have come here as a first reply also.
I want them to make a video with the title: The Ten Benefits You Will Have If You Don’t Do Squats and Deadlifts
I recently watched a video of a fitness trainer from my country who said something very true. So he said that most people want to hear what suits them and is to their taste. And when there’s an author who writes an article or posts a video that lives up to their expectations, they love it. And they are in constant search of an author who will say or write what they hope is true.
And specifically on the topic, I can say that the moderators have certainly seen this topic. If there is no reaction, then everything is fine. For example, it doesn’t bother me mentally or cause me any negative effects. If he wants to play a video for every rep and set
I’m happy with my deadlift whether I like it or not.
Its actually a pretty good guide though. Literally no crap what so ever, broadly applicable, and easily accessible.
I mean, no amount of block pull ever raised my deadlift. Deficit and stiff-legs are nice though. Also, barbell hyperextensions
I think @hankthetank89 was talking more about forum architecture than the actual video; that seems fair to me. I do agree to post it on the feedback forum too - see how folks feel
Yes
I love these “shorts” that he’s putting up. Sure, he’s not reinventing the wheel on every topic but he’s packaging them up in a neat, quick, entertaining way with some humor and personality. I hope he keeps them coming. It doesn’t seem too hard to just not click on or read the posts you’re not interested in, rather than advocate for them to not be posted at all when others enjoy them.
I’d throw thoughts here:
The powers that be do listen to what folks want
