3 mile run for Marine OCS

I actually have about 8 months. I want to get contracted right away though so I can get that out of the way. My next test is at the last day of this month.

hey Greg. Was wondering what you’re looking to do in the Corps. Not sure if you can decide that before you go in but was curious what your interests are. Also, what are you doing for PT (Pushups, situps, pullups, etc.)?

for part of your training, i would recommend doing this, run however far you can in 24 minutes, and then stop, next workout do the same thing. soon you will be running longer in the 24 minute interval and should hit your 3 miles marker in a week or two.

Hey Greg, just wondering how things are going in the training. You’ve got about a week and a half 'til your test. How’s it going?

Greg, I just finished Marine Corps OCS last week. If there is anything specific you would like to know let me know. The best advice I can give right now is run alot and start wearing your boots as much as possible. Also, how are your pull-ups and sit-ups? One last thing, have you been humping at all?

Greg-
As a Marine myself, I can tell you this: If you only have three weeks until you report to OCS, put the weights down, and get out and run your ass off. Run 4-5 times per week, 3-5 miles, on grass or pavement. Get good running shoes. Do pushups and pullups and situps before running. Good luck.

do a series of 1 mile reps to build lactate threshhold. this will give you mor chance at sprintig on the final straigt.
