Skills Camp - 1 hour
Drop in - 1 hour

Skills camp was a lot of technical drills, then scrimmage drills.

Drop in was fun. Right knee is maybe 95% now. Did a few full ice sprints. Got a nice assist against a good goalie. Made good passes and defensive plays.

Kept my shifts short, as they should be.

Yay on the 95%! Glad it seems to be better.

Totally! And the reason…

… oohh…

… oh god…

OH MY GOD!!!

That’s how real men play hockey.

Interesting note…10% of Hurling injuries are from groin injuries, what’s the stat in ice hockey?

It’s pretty often.

Hockey involves a lot oi hip motion, opening the hips as you transition from skating forwards to backwards, etc.

Backwards skating involves a lot of hip swiveling.

There’s just a lot of hip action, leg thrusting, and deft handling skills with a stick in hockey.

Wednesday night Men’s skate - 1 hour.

A lot of fun. My knee did not prevent me from skating hard.

Just the right number of people on the nb=bench and a fast, fun skate.

Made several good passes, just was off a half a step for a goal a couple of times. Had one nice redirection but was just wide of the net.

You see, these are the times I need to keep my thumbs shut!

Lol, I had a good night and plenty of ā€œre-hydrationā€ post hockey.

Fire away!

It just seems like a shame to waste all that hip swiveling action on a stick.

It’s hip swiveling WITH the stick.

It’s a lot of coordination.

Lol

Touche! Well, it’s your stick and you can play with it anyway you want!

Post removed due to Chicken Little’s later post. Multiple double entendres here.

Yeah I was going to type a few ā€˜thoughts’ myself, but I get myself in trouble at times.

Pro’s versus Joe’s game - 1 hour

This is the hockey game that’s for the end of the Adult Skills camp (although this year we still have two weeks to go).

So I had on my team a current pro who played for the Bruins, Blues, and Coyotes, a bunch of D1-D3 college players, including one from this years National Championship team, and USHL players.

I was the only ā€œJoeā€ who could keep up with the Pros.

Scored one goal and one assist. Had several good shots on net, and redirection chances. Goalie literally made one save with the toe of his skate.

Made good passes and defensive plays.

I was able to skate hard with no knee issues.

I had an NHL player tell me I played well.

It was a good day
