20160619 - Hockey

League hockey - 1 hour

Lost 5-2. We traded goals back and forth and then we just couldn’t get anymore in the back of the net.

I had a nice one-timer which nailed the other team’s goalie right in his facemask.

And I got on the scoresheet for a hooking penalty.

You got in the gym, and your knees behaved I assume? Sounds like a win to me. Monday’s are supposed to suck anyway.

20160621 - Hockey

Adult Skills Camp - 1 hour

So we did…

Lots of power skating. Like five times the length of the ice drills around cones.

Jumping drills. Fucking jumping drills. Both forward AND backwards jumping drills.

WTF.

A lot puck handling drills going the full length of the ice. Back hand to fore hand fakes. Fore hand to back hand. Back hand to fore hand to back hand. Toe drags.

Full ice sprints just carrying the puck.

Two on three small ice scrimmages for about one minute with two minute rests.

Full ice races against another skater for the puck on the far blue line. Pick it up and shoot it on the net or try to get it from the person who picked it up.

Ended with a two and a half minute skate going around the rink.

You can tell when the head coach shows up.

Ouch.

Awesome work in here 2busy. I’ve been lurking quietly for a while now. Really loving all of the hockey and lifting.

Wednesday Night Mens Skate - 1 hour.

More people on the benches tonight, that was a nice change.

Again made some good passes, a couple of defensive plays. No real chance to shoot on net.

Afterwards, we grilled filet mignon burgers, fries, brats and other yummies out in the parking lot.

I was tasked with bringing real beer so I brought Molson, LaBatt, and Warsteiner.

The resident Canadians said I did a good job.

Ended the night playing SauceToss in the parking lot and had some canolis to finish the night.

Here’s some SauceToss

20160626 - Hockey and… A stroke

League hockey - 1 hour

Lost 6-2. Goalie gave up 4 goals in the 1st period, and we couldn’t dig out of the hole.

Played well, just one chance for a shot on goal.

Now for the bad news. I had a stoke about 2 hours after the game, massive vertigo and nausea. Got to the hospital pretty quickly. MRI picked it up. Specifically they said Right lateral cerebsllar acute to subacute infarct. The only physical symptoms I had was the vision issues. Massive eye twitching, or mystigism (sp).

So I have been in the hospital since then, with them trying to figure out why I have had two strokes in 4 years.

OMG! I have been wondering where you have been. Will be praying they find some answers soon.

I’ve improved a lot. Just have some double vision when I look straight ahead. Thank you for your prayers.

Well, there could be an upside to that. If the nurses are " well endowed " it might be like a Double Mint commercial…Double the pleasure, double the fun?

Ha  lol

Yea I already thought along toes lines. But I was thinking more along the lines of twins.

It’s your fantasy man, dream it anyway you want!

Jesus. I’m so sorry to hear that. Was it a full on stroke or a TIA? Sending good thoughts your way.

I didn’t fully recover within 24 hours so I don’t know if can be called a TIA. I have improved. The concern is why. I have chloresterL of 187, good BP, active, don’t smoke. So why did I get a blockage? Normal cardioechogram showed nothing wrong. Getting one from behind the heart via the eshophogus, which requires putting me under. I’ll update afteri I recover from it.

Lot of us are praying for you.
