Military Press

60 lbs x 5
70 lbs x 5
85 lbs x 3
105 lbs x 5
120 lbs x 3
135 lbs x 4 - Rep PR

Super-setted with Deadlifts

120 lbs x 5
150 lbs x 5
180 lbs x 3
220 lbs x 5
250 lbs x 3
280 lbs x 4 - Grip

Called it a night due to knees still off from the weekend.

In reviewing my training logs, I am finally lifting back at the weights I was at 2 years ago.

Hopefully I’ll have some new PRs over the next couple of cycles

For the record they currently are:

MP 140 lbs
BP 240 lbs
SQ 295 lbs
DL 325 lbs

This year I should be able to take all of them higher.

20160330 - Hockey

Skating lessons - 1 hour
Scrimmage - hour

Back hurt all through lessons, even with a preemptive strike of the horse stuff on it.

Scrimmage went ok, right knee was wobbly a few times onder hard skating,

I did finally break the drought on goals, redirecting a pass into the net.

The white bench was not happy.

20160401 - Hockey

Refereeing game - 1 hour

Refereed a adult team scrimmage in preparation for an upcoming tournament.

Knees felt good.

20160402 - Hockey

Playoff game - 1 hour
Refereeing Playoff game - 1 Hour

Team won 1-0. I skated well, had several good shots, was was always a little too much left.

Knees were sore after the refereeing.

That’s pretty damn flexible!

I may have found the right supplement for my knee issues

I hope it works for you! Do you take any supps for your joints?

Fish Oil, Curcumin, Glucosamine, Condroitin.

The Joint Max was intended as a joke, since I use Thermaflex horse linament, lol.

20160404 - 531 C25W3

Bench Press

95 lbs x 5
115 lbs x 5
135 lbs x 3
170 lbs x 5
195 lbs x 3
215 lbs x 2
225 lbs x 2 - Decided I needed a PR.

In reviewing my log, the only time before I was at or over 225 lbs on bench, I knew I was not going down bar to the chest.

So this is a PR for me with good form.

Squats

105 lbs x 5
130 lbs x 5
155 lbs x 3
195 lbs x 5
220 lbs x 3
245 lbs x 6

And I called it a night.

Congrats on your bench PR with full ROM.

I take essentially the same joint supplements. Egads. You know we’re getting old when we’re sharing joint med stories.

Nothing wrong with horse linament! Have you tried, or researched Hyalunroic Acid?

Thanks KP!

Hoping that I’ll keep the progression going with 531 and I’ll keep getting PRs.

Joint med stories, lol.

No, I haven’t. Time for some research.

20160406 - Hockey

Skating Lesson - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour

Lessons went ok. Able to skate and drop to one knee on the ice and back up again.

Scrimmage was fast with not a lot of ice time. Instead of the usual 16-18 guys showing up, we had 23 total. Long benches and short shifts.

Made a couple of good defensive plays, got one decent hard shot on net.

I did get to see one of my friends who returned from playing professional hockey in Europe.

Made sure I was properly re-hydrated after playing.

20160409 - Hockey

Playoff game - 1 hour

Well… we lost 5-0. Still in the playoffs but now in the losers bracket.

Let’s see how far this rides out.

20160410 - Well…

Trying to replace the engine in my Suburban and having to move in the same week has wiped out lifting.

I at least got the new engine in tonight. Still a bunch of work to do on it.

I would just log that as conditioning…lol good luck!

20160412 - Hockey

Adult Skills Camp 1.5 hours.

Lot’s of skating, puck handling, and passing drills.

My knees hurt. Iced them down afterwards.

20160413 - Hockey

Scrimmage - 1 hour

Car issues prevented me from doing the skating lessons before.

My knees really hurt.

I made a couple of good passes, that’s all I had for the night.
