20160310 - 531 C25W1 Bench Press

Did something to my right shoulder which worsened during the accessory work, so that was it for the night.

20160313 - Hockey

League game - 1 hour

Played Defense again. Did alright. Made several good clears, was where I supposed to be. We won 3-2.

Spent most of the weekend working as a volunteer for the USA Hockey Central District Championships.

Sadly, the Omaha teams did not advance, but there was some pretty good hockey going on.

One Omaha team the 14U Boys, played the number 2 team in the nation from Illinois.

Shot count was Illinois 46, Omaha 4.

Omaha won 2-1 on a penalty shot in overtime. They had only 3 shots in regulation.

That is an absolutely crazy game result given the shots on goal!

I know. Omaha scored in the 1st on the 3rd shot. The 4th was in overtime. They went over 2 periods without getting a shot on net. The next shot they got was on the penalty shot.

Exactly! Great song too!

Wednesday - 20160316 Hockey

Skating Lessons - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour

Beck to skating lessons.

Scrimmage was another session of the white bench keeping me from scoring.

I plan on correcting that next week.

Thursday - 20160317 - 531 Squats

Tried doing the 15 sec sprint/45 sec off on treadmill but my knees complained a lot.

Made 6 minutes

20160320 - Hockey

League game - 1 hour

Won 4-3. should have been 7-3, refs out of position missed goals, but whatever.

Still counted as a win.

Back as left wing, no goals or assists, but feel I skated my best game this season. Knees felt good, kept up with really good players, made good plays and passes.

One of the refrees who plays at the top level in my league said I played really well.

Wednesday - 20160323 - Hockey

Skating Lessons - 1 hour
Scrimmage - 1 hour

Again no goals, but had a couple of good chances. Made good defensive and offensive plays.

Skates are now back to back so 1 hour skating lessons, a 15 minute break for the zamboni to clean the ice and off to the scimmage.

Knees were sore afterwards

I have had some similar scenes wit the coed hockey teams, lol.

Knees felt ok after I dumped a bunch of Thermoflex on them before starting squats

I was able to hammer the accessory squats out pretty well.

I’m back to where I was with the weight levels in 531 before I hurt my knees last year.

Looking forward to hitting some pr’s in the next couple of cycles

Ha, lol. Maybe a goalie. They have been said they can stand on their heads, lol

20160326 - Hockey

Refereeing last 5 minutes of league top level game - 5 minutes.
Refereeing bottom level game - 1 hour
League game - 1 hour.

Saw the game before had only one referee, geared up to help. I skated more in that 5 minutes then I did for the 1st period of the novice game. Top level game ended in a full out brawl at the end.

Novice game I spent trying to stay warm. Not a lot of skating around with them.

League game ended in a 1-3 loss. Played defense first two periods, back to wing in the 3rd.

That’s the end of the regular season, on to the playoffs.

Right knee was hurting after all of the skating.
