Welcome 2busy.

I didn’t recognise you with your clothes on!!

Shit!! I’ve just let on that I’ve visited SAMA.

Uh, I only go there to read the articles, honest.
The world is better off for now with me staying out of there.

Besides… Why would you venture out of T-Vixen and their ā€œarticlesā€?

I say it a lot man at our age it is not a SPRINT its a Marathon.

We want to be doing this into our late 60’s etc.

For you what sucks is you have to be strict on your Diet during this time.

What are you eating?
It’s just been whey protein, eggs, green beans and some grilled beef since the surgery.

I have very little appetite right now.

I used milk for mixing the shakes, have been below 50 grams of carbs a day so far.

Planning on staying there during the next 6 weeks to try to burn off the belly fat.
HERNIAS -

All the cool kids have one.

If you don’t have a hernia yet, you just aren’t pushing yourself hard enough! LOL!

That is awesome progress up there. I’m guessing you won’t have a problem taking off a little fat over the next few weeks. For me, that full feeling hurt while I was healing. Anything that pushed out on the belly button was painful, and just not much of an appetite.

Hi Puff!

Does that make me uber-cool because I have had 5?

Well, having my abs pumped full of CO2 to where the circumference at my navel was as big around as my chest certainly gives me that full feeling…

It went from 42 to 40 inches from yesterday to today.

Welcome. Great transformation. 5 hernias? Ouch.

I’ve seen you post before, 2busy, is this your first log? An amazing story. I too missed out on high school sports, I know how disappointing that is.

How many kids do you have? The boys look wonderful in the pic. Anyone with your level of strength and a loving family has a lot going for him.

2b welcome to old and broken

but really we just kick ass.

Good work on your transformation
heal up.

I compensated the lack of sports in HS with other activities.

Being on the State Championship HS Chess team and competing at the US High School Nationals helped.

I have 9 kids. 5 girls, 4 boys. Ages 22 through 3 years of age.

I’m currently going through a divorce. Part of my transformation journey was discovering how little my feelings and interests meant to my spouse.

There’s a link to my first training log somewhere near the start of this one.

Thanks for saying hi Hel320 and cav!

Thanks, kmc!

I’m trying. Cut out all the pain killers as of yesterday.

Carrying over my goals list from my old log…

I weigh in the low 180’s generally around 183. I would estimate I’m somewhere around 20% of body fat.

I need to go someplace to have a good measurement done. What I have for calipers don’t really seem to work well because of some local body problems where the chart says to take the measurements.

I want to trade out 10% of the fat for more muscle, so I end up around 185-190 but @ 10% body fat.

The 185 lb range is a good weight for me playing hockey at, I honestly would be willing to go up even to 200 if I could hold the 10%.

So I guess the basics is bigger, faster, stronger and leaner. And have that spare tire around my waistline gone for good.

I have never really been able to get below the 15% body fat limit before, and I was suspicious of that measurement…

As for strength goals…

Squat 315 lbs
Dead Lift 315 lbs
Bench 275 lbs
Press 185 lbs

PR’s

Squat 245 lbs - I have now gotten that to 265 lbs x 1
Dead Lift ? lbs - was able to do a 225 lb x 5 reps x 3 sets week before surgery
Bench 225 lbs
Press 150 lbs - seated with 2 - 75 lbs dumbbells

So I have some work to do.

Finally, my ā€œBucket Listā€ goals.

Beat my PR for running a 10K (49m42s)
Complete a marathon
Complete an Ironman distance triathlon.

Training - 10/11

Survived walk.

45 minutes, 2.4 miles.

Still hurt but better then yesterday.

Observations:

1 - Smokers must all own cars with broken ashtrays
2 - Cigarette butts should be bio-degradable
3 - Road kill stinks
4 - Skunk road kill stinks more

2B- Welcome, sorry I am late to the party! Helluva story brother…best of luck with your training.

Thanks, OldGoat!

Training - 10/12

Walk - 2.4 miles 43 minutes.

Felt a little better once I made a quarter of a mile.

2 minutes faster then yesterday.

Observations:

Rain does not help the order of roadkill.

Drove some last night. The road bumps does not agree with my insides. Ouch.

Its not a race brother, make sure you heal up well.

Being home driving you nuts? Or are you working from home?

I didn’t think it was possible, but you’ve actually made treadmills look attractive.

10/13 - Took today off the walk routine to give myself a rest.

I’m working from home.

I’m in IT so I can pretty much do everything I do at the office here and without pants…
