So I read this thread a litte and there is one thing that bugs me,that is when people are quoting engineering professor or anything engineering as valid source/expert. There is so much idiots right now in engineering it doesnt mean anything. In a nutshell engineering is science for dumbasses. But the most pathetic actually is that all these people think they are so smart because they are engineers/studying engineering when in fact they don’t know shit. Carry on.[/quote]

The ganga in your neck of the woods must be of premium quality.

I’m a little jealous that I’m not as high as you were when you typed that post.

First, I don’t remember anyone in here referring to an engineering professor. If you are referring to me, I am a Physics professor with a PhD from CMU. My dissertation dealt with decay mechanisms of long lived radionuclides.

Second, where did you get this idea that engineers are stupid? That is just plain false. As far as undergraduate degrees go, engineering degrees are among the most difficult to get. Yes, they do not have as pure an understanding of complex scientific concepts and theory as a scientist such as myself does, but they don’t have to. Engineering deals with real world applications of scientific principles which is what they learn how to do.

Stumbled across this video when posting the other Stossel vid on GAL. Thought it was somewhat on topic (global warming was tossed around a bit a few pages back) and thought I’d stick it in here.

The thing is, the only way you can refute bad science is with more science.

Nope… jeez, you non-believers are soooo dumb!

Bad science = any science that does not conform to my religious and/or political beliefs.

All I need to show me what bad science is are my favorite political pundits and church group.

Take that you atheist, America-hating, commie, nazi, lib, scumbag!!!

Engineering degrees are a joke, especially in North America. Proof: I am here wasting my life posting crap in a forum. My daily life is where I got the idea that engineers are stupid. Actually I havent even read all of this thread so please ignore my posts.
