23 Y/O, Low Testosterone After Propecia

Hi, I took propecia for hairloss for roughly 8 months. I quit 2 months ago but still have side effects such as decreased libido, no morning wood, brain fog, lethargy, and depression/anxiety.

I also developed a minor case of gyno (could be puffy nipples), which is fun. I took a blood test 1 month and 2 month after stopping propecia.

1 month after:
Testosterone - 20.3 nmol/L (8.4-28.8)
Thyrotropin (Sensitive TSH) - 1.37mIU/L (0.32-4.00)

2 month after:
Testosterone - 17.4 nmol/L (7.6-31.40)
Estradiol - 106 pmol/L (<=158.99)
Prolactin - 9 ug/L (<=17.99)
TSH - 1.93 mIU/L (0.35-5.00)
LH - 7.1 IU/L (1.7-8.6)
FSH - 5 IU/L (2-12)

So basically, my testosterone is the average of a 50 year olds. I have some nolvadex on deck that I was planning to use to kill the gyno. Should I get some arimidex as well? Any advice?

LH is high normal and testosterone is barely midrange, you look to have primary hypogonadism, a failure of the testicles. If TRT is being considered SHBG labs need to be run, it’s a guide for dosing and injection frequency. I doubt the full extent of the damage is yet known, many guys who have taken this drug show a steady increase in symptoms long after this drug is taken.

Your levels aren’t bad enough to explain your symptoms, loss of androgen action is common of PFS suffers.

The Post-Finasteride Syndrome is a serious state of permanent sexual, mental, and physical side effects which do not resolve after quitting the drug, most often accompanied by an acquired form of secondary hypogonadism and post-drug loss of androgenic action, which remains highly resistant to hormonal treatments aimed at restoring Testosterone/DHT’s effects in the male body to pre-drug virility levels. It is also surmised by the few specialists in the medical field that a type of receptor or “brain damage” has occurred. As often seen with such damage, recovery is very slow or now questioned whether possible at all. Needless to say, men suffering from PFS are plagued with any physical, mental, and emotional symptoms that have led to long term depression, marital problems and divorce, and now several reports cases of suicide.

I was briefly using tribulus so could that contribute to the high Lh levels? I drank the weekend before taking the 2nd test and the past two nights before my 2nd blood test I wasn’t getting much sleep. Hopefully another person can chime in here and help a brother out!

@KSman Can you help me out sir? I’ve seen your previous posts and you seem like a knowledgeable member. Should I just drop the Nolvadex and see if my testosterone levels return to normal in the coming months? I don’t think I have actual gyno, just puffy nipples and my fsh and lh levels are normal so idk if Nolvadex will help.
