I don’t think it works that way.
Triathlon = slow twitch muscle.
Power lifting/tons of muscle mass/ body building = mostly fast twitch.

You’re going to have to prioritize one over the other.
Not saying you can’t do both to a certain extent and get good results but you will lose training time for triathlon.
Such is life.

One mass gainer shake can easily exceed 1000 calories and takes 10 minutes to drink.

Think milk, oats, whey, eggs, nuts, oil, fruits, berries.

Tastes good too.

Thanks for the advice, will do. I am obviously going to be done with my season soon. This will give me a great chance to really gain some size and definition this winter. The purpose of this thread was to see what areas of my physique need concentration to stand up to bodybuilding standards,( i.e. size). [/quote]

Everything.

If I randomly saw you on the street, the LAST thing on my my mind would be “athlete”, more like “sedentary skinny guy”.

Everything you need to know is here: All Articles - T NATION

Sorry boss, gonna be realistic here.

As an endurance athlete it will be very hard for you to reach the “body building aesthetics”. Most endurance atheletes are usually slimmer, for obvious reasons. And you have the ideal build for an endurance athlete.

This can be seen across the board for all types of endurance events. Additional white muscular fibers are kind of backwards to excel in your sport. That being said, its still cool to see atheletes from all disciplines pushing weights.

Unfortunately you’re at crossroads here. You will have to decide to be really good at one or the other. Don’t try to ride two horses with the same ass. So thats my advice to you. Pick one and do it. They are both great endeavours nonetheless. G’luck

good job for your sport. endurance athletes need not be big.

And yet again you forget where you are.
