What I’d like to know is how that New York jury found that Trump sexually abused that Carroll lady.
Now, I’m not saying that he didn’t, maybe he did, but is there any proof?
As far as I know we only have her word.
Because it’s an NYC jury. When it’s that far gone, the law doesn’t matter. Anyone can be convicted of anything if the jury agrees on it.

It was a civil trial.
There wasn’t enough of any evidence to bring criminal charges.
That’s why there was a $5M award.

Civil case or not, I was under the impression that things must be proven beyond reasonable doubt.
This sets a bad precedent.
All you need is some crazy bitch accusing you of sexual misconduct and there goes your money.
Again, not saying it’s the case with this lady in particular. I don’t know what happened or didn’t happen. But neither does the jury.

Two things stood out to me about it…every article says it happened either in the 90s or mid-90s. No specific year.
And her friend said she called her minutes after it happened. Did she use a phone in the department store or go out to a pay phone? Just seems weird to me.
With that said, I can totally believe he did it.

DeSantis gives an impressive interview imo. Actually sounds competent, not a word we’ve heard for a long time about any national politician. No wonder he’s getting these WTF! random attacks about travel advisories ROFLMAO.
He should make a deal with Tim Scott to join forces and win this thing. Then, in 8 years, Scott can become the first Black President…
De Santis seems very competent to be honest. I would like to see him as a president. Funny I was a Trump guy, but I liked very much Bidens work in the war. Looking forward to someone competent as a US president.
I like Desantis and will vote for him over Trump (too much baggage)

That is actually a complaint that I’ve heard Republican strategists have against him. That he polls well with the Republican base, as well as with Republican primary voters (he is second to Trump in this group, and nobody else is very close behind), but he isn’t popular with independents. His culture war stuff is a turn off to many independents but polls well with primary voters.
That I think the differences between what primary voters and the general public want is an issue for the Republican party. More so than the Democratic party (not that it isn’t an issue there).
After 2 1/2 years of the longest ever weekend at Bernie’s, establishment guy sounds pretty, pretty good.
The bar might be low, but that’s the surreality of the world we live in.

So, do you think the independents have more disdain for desantis and the cultural wars
or the fact of Biden and his corruption, along with how bad the economy is, along with sending millions to ukraine, along with being poor on foreign affairs, inflation, the stock markets, energy crisis, his age and mental health, gas prices, going after appliances, transgender surgeries on kids
i can’t see how independents would want to keep going down this path
