2024 Presidential Candidate Talk

And your plan was to explain to your fellow left winger that national election are irrelevant and hopeless because of the corrupt machine?

Maybe start a thread “Hey, any leftists here?”

Are there left-wingers on here? All I tend to see are the postings of knuckle-dragging right-wingers.

From your viewpoint on the left wingtip of course would be the case…

Back to the question at hand - who would you want to run for president? something you still haven’t answered. Even if you don’t think the president has power, the supreme court does and the president you choose could pick supreme court justices more likely to try and implement your insane left views.

So, are you saying that the vast majority of postings on here aren’t from right-wing mouth-breathers?

What views of mine are insane? Single-payer healthcare?

There are definitely plenty left of center posters on this site. Also, I bet you’d be surprised how many Libertarians you are lumping into your “knuckle dragging right-winger” comment.

Divert, deflect, ignore.

Who would you support as a presidential candidate?

I believe most here are somewhere near the middle. I have some left leaning views and some right leaning views myself. I agree with you that healthcare in this country is atrocious compared to other western nations. Single-payer is crap, but I currently don’t have a solution - smarter minds with regards to that should figure it out. I agree that minimum wage is too low for anyone to survive off of and that sick time being used should not be seen as a blight on a worker.

Unions and Co-ops are not the god-send you believe them to be. I have watched unions screw over both my parents repeatedly (large state level and national level unions).
You believe human greed can be fundamentally changed through rhetoric and morals
And you are a follower of Marx - which is basically communism plus. In that system, the attempt is to make everyone equal. The only way to do that is knock everybody down to the lowest level since you cannot make imbeciles more intelligent. That is known to lead to societal collapse. Yes, capitalism might collapse society too but that outcome is still up in the air.

Like who? Where do your references come from? Are you aware of the Overton window?

As I’ve said before, I don’t know right now. In the past I’ve voted for the Green Party candidate. Not sure who they may run, so it’s up in the air right now.

Yeah, paying half the cost with better outcomes is crap.

The things that you mention are just common sense.

I’m not saying they are the magic pills but that they are better than what we currently have.

Never said this.

Another cartoon version of that system. Keep licking that turd.Keep eating up the propaganda. You are what they call a useful idiot. Although your usefulness can be called into question as you are just another foot soldier of ignorance.

Yet, for how smart you claim to be and understand everything better than everyone.

You can’t name a single candidate that you THINK might be good. We aren’t asking you to commit to anyone 100%.

Shouldn’t surprise us. You can’t even seem to have a real job or commit to actually making money either. But, you know all when it comes to business and how they should be run.

I always find it amusing and a bit sad when someone who has accomplished NOTHING in life tells successful people they are ignorant and brainwashed.

Again, what single-payer systems have you encountered or used? Nothing in life is free and if it sounds too good to be true - it is.

Same. When it comes to money - I am extremely conservative. When it comes to social issues I am left / center / don’t give a flying fuck. If you can’t pay your mortgage, what does it matter what color your house is.

To contribute to the thread topic:

Current politicians I’d like to vote for, off the top of my head:
-Rand Paul
-Thomas Massie

Who would I be willing to vote for in 2024?

Likely almost anyone the Republicans run against the Biden thing or any other Democrat candidate.

Story time: A friend’s dad is a multiple business owner in the Chicago area. One of his businesses was talking about unionizing (even though they were paid competitively with good benefits). The owner warned them that if they elected to unionize he would close the business because he would no longer be able to maintain a profit. They voted to unionize and were pissed the next day when the doors were chained shut and the accountant was handing out final checks under armed guard.
So is it better to unionize or lose a job?

I already see your rebuttal that the owner is just a greedy asshole - but in reality he lives fairly modestly. He does well but is by no means living high on the hog.

You have implied as much in previous posts.

You sell Marxism like any charlatan peddling a product - when called out you double down because you have too. There is no real pile of evidence supporting your claims.

Explain it to me then in simple terms. If I have it wrong I would like to know so I may make a better argument in the future. If you you cannot explain it simply you do not understand it yourself.

Ahh, The ad hominem attack again. Another method of the charlatan.

I think Rand Paul would be okay.
I did like Booker in the last election too.

And I still have to give it to Tulsi Gabbard for giving the middle finger to both parties. She has no chance as an independent but she has bigger balls than most of the male candidates.

I like her better than almost any current politicians I can think of. She may suck in some ways, but she doesn’t seem in favor of perpetual war.

I don’t know how much attention you’re actually paying here, but I’m definitely on the left on most issues.

fucking exactly, lol. Nobody’s actually asking for a person that even has a realistic shot at becoming president, we’re just trying to find out who you like. It’s not that hard of a question. Is there a human being, anywhere, you’d like to see become president?

From posting on this site for almost a decade. Go look through some threads. It’s not a right wing circle jerk by any stretch of the imagination. Theres always been a good bit of arguing in PWI.

Yeah, I’ve been around in some capacity here since 2008 and there is a good mix.

He’s confusing a right-wing circle jerk with everyone disagreeing with his inane idiocy.

Do you think “the professor” considers himself mainstream?

If by mainstream you mean enlightened and ahead of his time - sure.

I love Tulsi’s balls,

And do you know what I’ve accomplished? Tell me how so?

And you think because someone who may be successful in business automatically makes them knowledgeable in macroeconomics and propaganda. You constantly say foolish things and then try to pass off as your wise. Bwhahahaha!!!

Who said single-payer is free? It just costs about half of what we pay. I’d think as a successful businessman, you’d recognize this and embrace it. Tell us what service do you pay for that costs about twice as much as other like services and yields mediocre results, at best!

I don’t claim to be smarter than anyone, I’ve just had the courage to challenge my beliefs and expose myself to people who were heavily propagandized against. As they constantly tell you, who is acceptable and who is not. They don’t want you to be exposed to different ideas than the ones you are already exposed to for fear you may find out something and they could lose legitimacy.
