2020: The Best IronOne Yet

Haha. I thought about your post here Simo and it created all kinds of weird emotions.

I’m a fraction of what I used to be strength wise. At 25 I set PRs I have not seen in 12 years. Unfortunately I pushed way too hard too fast, and started sustaining soft tissue injuries. Repeatedly. I did it all wrong. So I’m paying for the sins of the past. Pretty much the opposite of what you stated above.

However, I carry more muscle than ever. That’s because I only accept quality reps now. Every rep is basically a tempo rep, lots paused. I obviously wish I had always lifted in this manner.

My body is in a pretty good place right now. I’m managing some stuff, and it will always be that way.

I feel like I’m on the brink of a great year though. As long as I continue to only take good reps, with the proper minimum required volume, recover and keep up with my prehab, I think I’ll get to enjoy a strong comeback this year.

As a matter of fact, I think I’ll start a new log.

I only skimmed the end of this thread, but do you still do prehab/rehab work everyday? If so, do you mind listing what it is and how long it takes you?

Due to my injury history (genetically hypermobile joints which led to a bilateral hip tear at age 20), I’ll need prehab work daily as I continue regaining my old strength.
