My wife and I went to an all inclusive resort south of Cancun before we started the family. I loved every minute of it. Hawaii might be the place to go since the Mexican cartels are making it sketchy to go south of the border.
Back from Hawaii! Trip was awesome, but we’re all happy to be back and in our routine. That 12 hours of flight on the way back was BRUTAL. We were tired as hell, and had a lot of work to do when we got home to get everything in order. Did it all, and passed out from 10PM-10AM.
So, I weighed in at 181.8 this morning. Looking like shit haha. Still have a 6 pack, but it’s not sharp and I dont feel sharp. So, going to cut for probably the next month before starting my slow gain. Maybe just 2 weeks depending on how fast I strip this water and fat.
I’m good with this. It was all worth it. It’s pretty gross how I ate though. We ate a buffet at the disney resort Aulani one night, and what I did was just wrong lol. 3 massive plates of everything you can imagine, and then desert. Oh man. I had 2 big plates of pies, cakes, cookies, lol. My wife seriously told me to stop. I said hell no, I paid $56 a head for this and you only at 1.5 plates. It’s your fault
So, back to training! For which I’m super excited.
Back is no better unfortunately. The bed at the resort was sloped, and every morning I woke up extremely sore all over. Neck, back, hips. Nutrition was probably part of the problem too.
I’ll be hitting my upper/lower 4x per week. Lower wont be much as I continue to rehab the back, but I should be able to get some suitable work done. Made huge physique progress this year though, through the cut and high rep BBing work. Got ALOT of comments at the beach from strangers. One guy said the sharks better watch out ha (we saw some baby sharks in the cove).
Sounds like an awesome trip. I’m jealous of the vacation but not of the trip back. That’s my biggest mental hurdle with a Hawaii trip - the time of travel and the lost hours coming back. Well, that and the cost.
Our trip to Mexico was like $2k total and we stayed for five nights. Most of the cost was the flights.
The travel was brutal. Out there, not too bad bc of the adrenaline high.
But the trip back, horrid. Flying all night, 6 hour time change. We got home the next day at 7:30 AM. Talking about time confusion?
And the expense is outright obsurd. To do it right? We spent $14K.
That included a professional photography session though. Could have maybe done it for $9K if really cheap on food and accommodations. But not my style if on a big vacation.
Brutal. I just need the beach, sun, and a drink and I’m happy. I like the all inclusive approach so I don’t have to stress about spending $$$ on meals. $56 a person would kill me - especially since most of the family would eat like $7 worth of food.
I’m really starting to wonder if I’ll ever squat again. RFESS might be my go-to movement in the future. No one can deny that it’s a good movement and if I work up to a 2.5 or 3 plate RFESS then my leg development will be just fine.
Our kids have travelled lots and it’s actually not that bad. You just need enough snacks and ways to keep them entertained. Overnight flights are normally good because kids generally sleep.
Looks like that was a good trip to Hawaii, one day if I get the chance.
As far as the foods, well it’s a week, and what happens on Hawaii stays there
Keep rehabbing and stay strong Iron
