So what status have you reached if you’ve hit a 305 bench, 170 press, 545 deadlift, and 370 squat, but currently can only do probably 275, 150, 550, and 315? I’m apparently still a beginner on everything but the deadlift. ![]()
Guessing average?
Thanks for finding and sharing the posts, but I was joking. I don’t have time to care about that stuff.
No only for the press, to which the man said that even if you’re 220, a 185 press as a natural is darn impressive ![]()
thank you! solid stuff. will look closer at the simple option.
my goal is to keep cutting until the end of the year. I’m looking to change training to something that doesn’t drain me as much. this looks promising.
Im a failure in life…![]()

Where are these stats from? Everything looks extremely basic except for that press, seems awful strong compared to the others. Or am I just weak?
Edit: should have kept reading!
Basically I’m doing the first part of Paul carters super soldier Protocol.
It’s a LPP split that’s only 3 days a week split.
Only thing I’m changing is on accessory work I take the last set to failure. You’re supposed to Hit failure on the last set but I’m not always at failure so I take extra reps if I need to.
Also I’m not sticking to 3 days a week. I don’t need 7 days between a lift so about every 5 days I start the next week. I recover well enough and the volume is fairly low and intensity isn’t to bad either.
Primary lifts I chose are SSb front squat, 2 second paused bench and dead lift from 4 inch blocks. I don’t think I’m gonna change this and will simply increase the max slightly every 4 week block.
Nutrition I’m maintaining body weight. It’s pretty easy to do at this point.
Goals-get stronger after cutting weight. Bench I’d like to hit 350, ssb fromt squat I don’t know it’s a new lift but I’m around 335 max on it. Block pull I’d like to hit 500 for a single on it. But I don’t think that one is gonna happen in 3 months
On that note
… i posted another video on the thread for shits and giggles.
With a box even

Closer to squatting 500 than I am pressing 180…pls someone lend me some delts
Do you think this is simply a case of where you prioritised most over the last few years
Yes and no. Initially a big OHP was my goal but my predisposition for quad/glute size and strength vs shoulders led me to focus more on my strengths now
OK, fairly long time lurker here (sorry), but I need this challenge. I jump around far too much and progress over the past couple of years has been poor.
I’m going to run the original 531 from Forever, the AB split. Tested my training maxes last week and starting three days a week tomorrow. Already I have been wobbling, worrying it won’t be “optimal” or there is a better way. Fact is, I’m weak and skinny and I just need to get my head down and get my strength up. So if I wait until September to start officially I will change my mind!
I might start a training log, and will include more info about me and my lifting history there.
Good to have you on board man
I honestly wish I’d done this sooner in my training life. Partly for the feedback from bigger, stronger, more experienced people, partly for the accountability, but also because I can forever look back and figure out what I did that worked and what didn’t.
Then you get old, and find yourself looking just to remember what you did last week.
I already do this, sadly. In 2 different places, because I regularly forget to update the first one.
I have nothing to add to this thread other than to say that we should all agree that @kleinhound should never be allowed to have delts that have it pressing 185. It has already achieved sentience, we cannot afford to let it have that kind of upper body strength.
There must be an off switch somewhere
Nope. You have to throw him in lava.
I wouldn’t be so sure. heat resistance is a hot topic in robotics and the results are pretty exciting (scary)
