2019 NFL Thread

is this how you are in real life? you shoot the shit with someone, open conversation, a claim is made and you go batshit and jump all over the person asking for citations and research papers? like come the fuck on.

the NFL had a Europe league if you don’t remember, and it bombed but for some reason London has a booming NFL fanbase outside of expats? okayyyy

Lol … where did I go bat shit? Your predilection towards hyperbole is amusing. So predictable.

Trying to tell a cockney you know London better than I do? Laughable.

Ahh you’re that guy at the bar everyone tries to avoid. Sat on his own desperately trying to strike up conversation with every punter trying to order a drink, talking cobblers about subjects he knows naff all about. Melt.

True true

Instead of attacking me tell me how you ‘know’ London has a hard on for the NFL lol

I’m from London.

Bruh, stop. Look at the loosey goosey language this moron uses. Nothing about it is precise and he’s giving himself the wiggle room to refute anything you have to say.

London is a big city and there are vast amounts of people who would like or not like American Football. Just point at how infantile this guy engages in discussion and move on with your day - he’s either a wicked dumb person, or a mediocre troll.

BTW I’ll have some questions for you about London soon … how well do you know York as well??

You’re right, I will take your advice.

Shoot whenever you’re ready. I know York very well, I have an uncle there and currently live in Leeds.

ok, and everyone there is into the NFL?

Despite it being around for over a decade there is calls for the commissioner to pull out because no sustainable growth has been made. Same with what happened to the European league. So, again, where is the popularity?

I’m glad to see it is growing in popularity over here. A few mates and I have booked the 3rd Feb off work to head into town for the Superbowl.

“The games have been popular, with tickets for the two games per season selling out in two days, nine months in advance. According to the NFL, only 3% of those attending the London games are Americans or American expatriates, while 22% are from London and 60% from elsewhere in Britain.”

The NFL is giving away ~40,000 free tickets, and then ~40,000 Americans are going to NFL games in London.

Look man, I know sometimes it probably seems like you’re getting a ton of pushback on everything you say, but you can’t really accuse other people of ‘flying off the handle’ for pushing back on statements like that, especially when you say they’re ‘obviously fact based claims’.

By the way, I lived in England. Bristol, to be exact. Have a lot of friends there. Only one of them has been to a football game. Said it was hard to get a ticket for. Just the fact that you visited London and “know a lot of people” who went to a football game is proof that it must be popular as shit…

let’s believe the NFL. Yes, that’s what we should do here.

They also said the Europe league was doing great right before it folded.

Oh, and concussions? yeah, that’s totally not a thing. Right? NFL?

Wait, wait. Better yet, have you seen the recent articles talking about the explosion in ratings this year? yeah, something like 5 percent increases! yes, increases from the bottomed out numbers from last year, and then the year before, and then the year before.

Funny how you can manipulate the message like that. “Look we’re up 5 percent in viewership from last year!” Uh, but you had declining viewership for the last 3 years…

I’m not saying you have to take their numbers as exact, but your claim is 50% and it’s based off of visiting London, and their claim is 3% and it’s based off of statistics that they’d have to use to consider whether or not to shut this down. 13 years is a pretty long time, and when those ratings are climbing and ticket prices are higher than they are in the US after 13 years, can we maybe say it’s worth it?
