2015 NFL Season

Vikings are 5-2

Only losses are the fluke opening loss to the 49ers and a close one lost to the broncos. We’ve won some close games, but of course a win is a win. And this weekend everyone in our division lost but us.

Wooooooooo.

Not that it made a difference, but that (non) forward progress call for GB was quite interesting.

Denver is winning the whole fucking thing if they play like they did last night going forward. They will be 19-0 if they can duplicate that performance.

That defense was insane.

Their defense is quite impressive. Wade Phillips usually does a great job defensively, but that combination of pass rush and corner play is outstanding.

Pretty dramatic drop in performance for Manning though this season. Love that Moneyball quote: We’re all told at some point in time that we can no longer play the children’s game, we just don’t… don’t know when that’s gonna be. Some of us are told at eighteen, some of us are told at forty, but we’re all told.

The question is, how much of his drop-off has been physical, and how much has been a function of changes to the offense? It’s definitely been some of both – some of his passes this season have been awful – but, if last night is any indication, a Manning more comfortable in this offense is going to be a better and better Manning. Backed up by a D that can limit Aaron Rodgers to 77 passing yards, a worn-down elite QB has more than a fighting chance. Somebody said it on ESPN this morning – that weakening arm is still attached to one of the greatest ever.

His command of the position has been 70 percent mental for a couple of years now, and if he’s back to firing on all of that 70 percent, I predict a deep run into the playoffs at least.

Very, very impressive.

Yep, looking forward to that very much. It will be interesting to see if we can stop their running game and mitigate their pass rush.

I would peg it more physical, although suddenly dropping the same offensive system you have essentially ran for your entire career can’t help. He has changed his throwing mechanics from what I can tell, and I believe that is what has been giving him trouble this season as well. His spirals are noticeably tighter than last season, but he is still throwing ducks. I think the worst thing for that team is to get behind 2-3 scores because then it’s all on that arm. Like you said, some of those throws he has made have been bewildering though.

There is not a single team in the league that could have beaten Denver last night, not even the Ultra-Mega-Super-Cowboys who are impervious to anything negative.

The Pats will look very, very vulnerable a mile high up with a worse OLine than GB.

That is what worries me, yes. It’s bad enough as it is. Looking forward to Stork returning as well as Jackson and Cannon. Hopefully they can come up with a great short passing game to mitigate that pass rush.

When we get Romo back, I’d take that bet. Yes, I’m serious.

lol. The Cowboys of the 90’s would have had a hard time beating that team last night. (I do believe they would have though.)

I mean, “eek out” isn’t exactly the phrase I would use. It seemed closer than the score indicated, yes, but anytime the human victory cigar (backup QB) takes snaps to run the clock in the 4th, eek out doesn’t seem to fit.
Had to be sarcasm Beans.
Yeah is was ‘cause that was a proper ass whooping. If the Pat’ stay healthy they can run the table to the end.

They will lose to the Patriots if it goes that far.

I may actually put money on that game. Depends on the spread I reckon, asto whether I do put real money on it or not.
Denver was outstanding yesterday and their defense is one of the best, if not the best in the league. But Manning has been uneven all season and 1 good game does not reinstate my faith in him as a juggernaut.
The Patriots have been outstanding all season. The big question on 11/29 is which Manning will show up.

I’m not sure. As much as I despise the Patriots, I think the Pats will still beat them. Brady gets rid of the ball so fast I don’t think the pass rush will have a chance to affect him that much.

I actually didn’t watch the Broncos vs Packers. I had enough football after that Cowboy game

Vernon Davis to Broncos, makes sense for both teams. Good move…

And Kap benched.

Really surprised there hasn’t been a fire sale of more players, although who knows what happens tomorrow.
